The house was nice and clean and everything worked great. The views are great and it was a quick walk into town when we needed to go down for anything or go to the river. The patio wraps around the house and is entirely closed. The host even has toys for young kids available plus baby gates. After playing on the river all day this was the perfect nightly retreat. We were a group of women visiting for a couple days of mountain biking and really appreciated the size and layout of this home. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen is really well stocked and the huge deck with views is so great for morning coffee. The location is ideal - close to everything in town (we didn't get in our cars once) Thank you so much to Chandra, our host! Its the first time I have used VRBO and the whole process and property has been great. Comms with the owner was easy and responsive. The views from the deck were great. The house was roomy and there was enough "home goods" for cooking and storing the food. We cooked a lot in the kitchen and there was enough basic kitchen goods to allow us to serve our rather large group of people. The driveway was a bit steep for some of the folks (as in, they had challenges driving up it) but it is fine for a confident driver. The walk into town and the river was easy. The neighbors have a bit too much junk in their yard, but all-in-all, a nice location where I felt safe with my family. Very close and easy to get to town. Sitting on the deck in the evening was great and the deck is very new and in great condition. The driveway is a bit steep but didn’t creat an issue. The town of Downieville has limited resources so you’ll definitely want to bring anything you’ll need or want as the grocery store in town doesn’t have much and there isn’t any fuel in town.
