![Three months ago there was a major earthquake which hit Kumamoto. Takachiho Gorge is in Kumamoto prefecture. I was scheduled to arrive some 2 weeks later but had to postpone trip till now coz many roads were damaged.

Currently some part of this gorge is still closed. The boat rowing below also closed as water is too high I was told. Still, it's been a place I had wanted to see for many years and am happy to finally made it and hence marked the completion of my tour of all the 47 prefectures   of Japan! Hurray!!!

Without the boats and people in the water, it is a little difficult to appreciate how big the gorge is! May be next time!

"立地は海沿いに近く、夏は近くにひまわり畑もあります。 ラブホを改装したお宿でしたが、普通に戸建てのお宿として利用する分には問題ありませんでした。お風呂の浴槽が深過ぎて、お子さんや足腰が弱い方、高齢の方にはちょっとオススメできないなと感じましたが、それ以外は普通に大丈夫かと思います。 バーベキュー用のコンロ予約を忘れてしまったのですが管理人の方が快く対応してくださいました！"
