"Surprisingly good, secure three-storey building on commercial street. Very large investment made here to modernize this hotel: bathrooms new with strong pressure and hot water plentiful, comfortable beds and bedding. Restaurant and bar service with actual edible cuisine, (well, food) and espresso. Decor is pretty spartan though, merely functional. Staff and management is responsive and professional. City Hotel is the only viable hostelry in this immediate vicinity. Unless you need specifically...

"The property was very dirty, the room was not ready for me to check in, the manager claimed the payment I made to cover my stay had not been reflected in their account. The room shown to me was very dirty and no air conditioning in the room, the bed covers or sheets were dirty and stinking. The hotel does not resemble what was advertised in Expedia web site. I DID NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL DUE TO ALL OF THE ABOVE."

"This was my third time staying at Afrilodge, and every time I stay it is clear that the team is committed to making improvements for a great lodging experience. The rooms are well taken care of, the Wifi was excellent, the water was hot, and the food was great. Those are my lodging non-negotiables, and very glad that there was no issue with power, the backup generator was always reliable. The staff is always courteous, kind, and accommodating for early and late check outs, which I always appreciate with my work schedule. Once the debit/credit card paying system is fully functional, there is no reason I will not commit to this being my go-to hotel in Monrovia. I look forward to being welcomed back very soon!
