Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were so kind and lovely, the home cooked food was some of the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. They also arranged a safari for us, we had a jeep to ourselves, and saw many animals (elephants, monkeys, mongoose). All in all a fabulous experience, and incredible value for money. The setting of the hotel is absolutely stunning - in amongst nature with the wildlife, plenty of areas to walk around the hotel or sit and relax in a hammock. The facilities were comfortable and the cleanliness of the rooms was excellent. Oscar really made our stay enjoyable - he was very attentive, a really friendly and accommodating manager. The service and quality of the food were really stand out - Oscar and the chef are a credit to the hotel! The only downside for us was that the pool was being renovated while we were staying there, so we couldn't go for a cooling dip after the safari, but we would most definitely go back to Hantara Hotel and hope to do so soon!!" Lovely family run accommodation in a quiet area. The family were so welcoming and it was such a pleasure getting to know them. The room was very spacious , clean , nicely decorated and very comfortable. We had dinner and had big portions of delicious , authentic , home cooked food. We also had a lovely traditional Sri Lankan breakfast there. They arranged our morning safari which was so memorable and we had a fantastic guide. We were even given water and iced coffee for the journey! It is excellent value for money and I would recommend this guest house to anyone.
