"We stayed for one night on our way back from Rushmore on a road trip. Our plan was to stay next to the hot pools in Lava Hot Springs since we got online tickets to use that facility. The Riverside Inn is a historic property conveniently located with a friendly staff. It wears its age well but it is part of the experience. It doesn’t have elevator or luggage cart however the staff offered help with our bags which was very nice. Dave went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed in the property. We tried their Portneuf Grille&Lounge and were amazed with the espresso drink prepared by Will. The breakfast was cooked to order and delicious, thanks to Colter and Alexa for making it so enjoyable. Overall we had a great time at the Riverside Inn."

"The exterior is old and outdated the parking lot had broke down cars and lots a shopping carts. The halls were very dirty, the room had been updated, but there were only 2 towels for a 2 queen room and ran we out of toilet paper, there wasn't any extra rolls. The shower curtain was very dirty. The beds were hard. The halls also smelled. "
