Great base for local highlights like Sumtsaling Monastery and Potatso National Park. Seems almost brand new, very comfortable, and all the models cons. Staff were fantastic, extremely helpful with organizing trips, and very welcoming. Provided a great home cooked breakfast, and even made me some local soup at 10pm after a long day touring. Easily the best that we have stayed in our two-week trip in China. Staff were warm and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure guests feel welcome there. They picked us up from the coach station on arrival and dropped us off to the airport on departure. The breakfast that was included was delicious and freshly made every morning. The location was two minutes walk from the centre of Shangri-la old town. The whole hotel environment was serene and relaxing. The hotel is around 100m from the north gate. Overall, the hotel is very pretty. However, due to all the stone steps and stairs you will require the hotel staff help to move the lugguage to room and vice versa.
