The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Next to the hotel is a large shopping mall where you can find plenty of food stalls and restaurants. The main area for improvement is its shower room design which has no door to stop water getting out to the toilet when showering. The buffet breakfast offers plenty of food choices.

Good hotel friendly and helpful staff. Good service. Shower screen needs to be repaired as water tends to leak out during shower flooding floor outside the shower area. Food is good. We have made several friends with the staff. The mall next door is an asset.👍

Noce hotel. We had some hiccups during checkin but we received great help from Wigati amd Vina from hotel concierge. At the end fantastic experience. However, hotel would deserve a bit better maintenance.

Nice and classy hotel. Very very friendly staff and good service. Big variety of food for breakfast. Also lunch packages for I want to party have been very good. Perfect indoor play area for small children.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were always courteous and helpful. The breakfast included a variety of food and drinks to suit all tastes.

My dad took the fish n chip for dinner and vomit and diarrea, during midnight, we inform the hotel and they send us doctor but make us pay. So... disappointed as my dad don’t go out, he relax in the room so...

Ambaruukmo stay
Nice hotel. It helps that there is a mall nearby. Breakfast food is okay, but if you're not so used to Indonesian food, you might not like the breakfast. A bit noisy because there is a mosque, I think, nearby and you get wakened up by the early chantings.

Stop to see the Temples
We stayed here to go to the local temples. Hotel looks very grand. The issue we had was that there was quite a bit of mold in the bathroom. Which we self tested and did come off. It seems that the hotel needs a bit of attention. The staff were lovely though and the manager moved us to a different nicer room to compensate us and gave us a car for the day. Which was very nice of them. I think a nice hotel but needs to make sure cleanliness is well looked after.

A good hotel with some great features.
It's still a good hotel and is located next to a mall. The staff is excellent, but confusing at times with their English skills. For the most part, the hotel is in great shape, but there are lots of little things that might upset people. It's not a big for me, but the towels were thread worn, or some of the signs were too small to see or placed in odd viewpoints. It's hard to maintain a nice hotel over time, so I can't complain.

Great room, astounding breakfast buffet
The Royal Ambarrukmo is the epitome of a quality hotel, with clean, well appointed rooms, comfortable beds, a beautiful swimming pool, and an astounding breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet was possibly the highlight of my stay--you can get anything you want, from just about any world culture, all freshly prepared and delicious. I especially liked the freshly pressed melon juice, made to order omelets, and crisp pastries. The hotel is next to a shopping mall that sells just about anything you might need. It's only a 15-minute drive from the airport and 20 minutes from Malioboro Street (the heart of Yogyakarta).

They make you feel like a royal.
An enjoyable stay & all the staff were just wonderful, aside from a couple of hit & misses. Upon checking in for the next 5 nights in a junior suite; the front desk apparently didn't mention about our eligibility to excess to the executive lounge, I reckoned they were at their low season then. The hotel is just next to the Ambarrukmo Plaza & about 20 mins from the airport. The surrounding & ambience were excellent & it even has a Royal history behind this hotel. Although they are not situated in the heart of the town but they are still located in a busy area & yet we weren't affected by the traffic noise, it was rather quiet & tranquil except for those loud noises from some unruly guests utilising the pool. The spa was enjoyable but do note they are an independent group not affiliated to the hotel but utilising their premises; they even do room spa services at a slightly different price tag. Dinning in the cafe was great, especially breakfast, guests were spoiled for choice, from some of their local Javanese cuisines to some Asian & Western style dishes & they even have a Jamu corner, an Indonesian herbal concoction, good for both health & beauty. The pre freshly squeezed juice corner was a big let down, extremely diluted. Room service was good with presentation, quantity, quality & taste. Room was very spacious, clean & a good king size bed but bathroom could improve. Would I return? Yes, definitely, the staff made you feel special with their Indonesian hospitality.

The positives are that it's close to airport (although I found that not pleasant for lesuire travel) and it's connected to a shopping mall. Unfortunately that's where the backend compliments end. It's large breakfast buffet has almost hundreds of items yet nothing is spectacular. Don't expect a lively lobby bar; or decent late night dining options. But by far the worst part is the rooms. Old, outdated, poorly lit, and cheap finishing make it feel like meager accommodation. Overall, not the best place to stay in Yogyakarta. Try Amanjiwo.

An Excellent hotel with friendly staff
I have stayed here a few times on business and I enjoyed it tremendously. The hotel is of 5 star standard and it can be seen in the restaurants, cafes, bedrooms, and the staff. As a business traveler, I have problem only with the Business Centre which cannot scan and photocopy. But the staff are ready to help. I will stay here again and will recommend it most highly to my friends.

Very nice hotel, location also very strategic
Love staying there, just bit noisy with motorcycle at night. The staff is very friendly. Used hotel rental car to explore Yogyakarta, the drive was very helpful. the staff at the restaurant need more knowledge about food and need to put sign for the strong food like Durian!

The hotel is very good, next to a big mall. The foreign exchange rate in the hotel is very poor compare with the one which is in the mall next to the hotel. The morning free breakfast is the big plus. The staff is very friendly. The will make sure almost all guests in the dining area is enjoying their food. They suggest local delicacies. Very friendly. I am very impressed with their friendly attitude.

It was great, we love Jogjakarta. The people very friendly and the city is great. Unfortunately we have a lot of moths in our room. They said they are going to spray them, but still there until we check out. Not enough staff at the front desk, so it is a long wait to check in and check out. The card not work anymore before check out time, and has to wait for a long time to update it. Asked for wake up call at 7 but at 3 am we got a call.

I was very pleased with my stay at the Royal Ambarrukmo. Great breakfast selections and excellent service in all aspects. Internet service is fast and reliable. Rooms are adequate and having a balcony sure gives a feeling of spaciousness and completeness. Overall, a gem in Jogjakarta!
