Wormy paradise
We were disappointed in our stay. The mulch in the garden was full of worms that kept invading our apartment. The sofa bed mattress was like a medieval torture instrument.

A fabulous spot to stay at as the beach is across the street and the hotel is in walking distance of all that Delray Beach's Atlantic Avenue has to offer.

Beautiful property. Quiet. Relaxing.
Relaxing. Beautiful, tranquil property. Nice pool area. Beach across street. Quiet family beach. Beach was older folks and young families. No footballs (or any sports) or paddleball allowed on beach. Wooden padded chairs and heavy canvas umbrellas can be rented from beach vendor.

Close to all amenities but the hotel itself was disappointing, you had to make the bed yourself and on leaving had to put all dirty laundry, including bedding, into a bag ready for the maid. You also had to empty the rubbish bins. Having stayed in several hotels on this trip all around the same price it was the first time we been asked to do this, I was as I say disappointed.

Location was Great
The Dover House was a nice timeshare type place. It was easy to find and pretty much the way it's advertised. The 1 bedroom unit was comfortable and across the street from the beach.

The worst place on the beach I've ever stayed.
I recently stayed here. I had booked for 2 weeks but checked out 5 days early. My kids awoke to roaches on the floor every morning. Lamps, TV's and essential appliances all dated and falling apart. No one cleaned in over a week. The electric went out for a day followed by wi-fi going out for at least 4 days. It's across from the beach but that's all it has going for it. When attempting to contact management to leave early and get a refund, no one was available from the timeshare portion of this building. We checked out with the onsite manager and tried to follow up for a refund of the unused days to which we were refused. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE and MANAGEMENT.

Great place in Delray Beach.
We had a great beach weekend. The room was perfect right across the street from the beach and walking distance to all the restaurants and shops.

Wonderful place...
My gf and I came here expecting a decent place to stay in a great location. We were both pleasantly surprised that our expectations were exceeded. It's not a fancy place with lavish, modern touches, but it's neat and clean in a location that can't be beat. I highly recommend Dover House and we will be staying here again.

Only One Roll Of Toilet Paper?
Got to my room and discovered that there was only one roll of toilet paper. Went to the front office to complain and was told that a single roll was all they put in each room. I have been at many time share resorts and never experienced such a shabby way of running things. They did give me another roll, as if they were handing out thousand dollar bills. The resort is located directly across from the beach and is fairly typical for a time share resort in a beach area. The two television sets definitely need replacing and I had a problem with low water pressure in the bathroom sink.

An older facility with outstanding location
We stayed for three nights at the Dover House during an art fair. Located directly across from the beach, we enjoyed beautiful beach walks, a lovely and clean pool, a full kitchen and spacious bedroom, and a staff that really wanted to make sure our stay was pleasant. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping, this place is a gem. Worth every penny.

Heaven for me!
I loved Dover House. Right across from the ocean, relaxing atmosphere, great staff. Our unit would be small for 4 adults, perfect for 2 or a family...2 sleep on a sofa bed in living room area. Somewhat older resort with fantastic kitchenette, many thoughtful touches. Rooms nicely decorated. Our unit was a condo so there is not daily maid service but we had no need. Plenty of towels, 4 fluffy beach towels ready for us, I felt happy the moment we walked into the courtyard. If you are OCD and prefer brand new large hotels this might not be ideal for you but if you wish to relax in a place that has a somewhat hip feel in a perfect location Dover House felt safe, comfy, welcoming with a fantastic staff and guests that were friendly. Ocean lovers paradise.

We loved the location of the hotel but the bed was uncomfortable, the living room furniture was uncomfortable, the bathroom was very dated and could have been cleaner, the towels could have been softer. We also didn't like the fact that we had to remove and bag our linens and take the garbage out.

I booked the Dover House for friends visiting out of town that wanted to stay near the beach. I had seen this resort before and wanted to give it a try. Oh the shame i felt with my friends that i had chosen this hotel. The room was perfect the accomodations were great but the staff was horrible you never saw them on the premises and when you did no on knew what was going on or how to help. For two days my guests had no hot water without any explanation, furniture was removed from in front of their room because of hurricane prepareness and when they asked the staff can they move them in to the rooms and keep them they were told why do you care youre not even going to be here for the storm. Ice machine wasnt working for three days. I contact the manager leonardo@doverhouseresort.com and he didnt say much. Its a lovely hotel it just needs staff that cares about their guests and about there resort.

Nice beach location near Atlantic Ave. The buildings are pretty old and exteriors have been recently painted. Some of the appliances and the loud A/c in our unit could use updating but overall we had a great stay.

This place was great, quiet and comfortable. Sort of old florida mixed with some new comforts. Just a note- this is a vacation condo so they don't have turn down and cleaning services every day. You also must empty your own trash and recycling. All in all though, right across from the beach and lots of space.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Extremely clean and comfortable. Located in a fabulous safe area. No need to rent a car because cabs and trolley are free. Restaurant and bars are in walking distance. The beach is right across the street. Looking forward to going back !

Dover House
The location was perfect, right across the street from the beach. You get a lot for the money, kitchen, living room, patio. The only draw back is that it is a timeshare resort which means that you have to clean up at the end of your stay. Trash goes in the large dumpster, sheets and towels go in the laundry bag. The keys have to go back to the main office. Not terrible but just something extra. Well worth it, I would definitely return on my next trip to Del Ray.

Perfect For a Beach Lover
Located about 50 steps from Delray Beach, Dover house looks like an old mission. After a mix-up with the rental office, we cozied into a second floor one bedroom condo with an ocean view. Basic accommodations but well appointed with king-size bed! and fold out couch. Peaceful and tranquil, close to everything by car or foot. A few down sides - air conditioner and some appliances are noisy and a bit rickety. All-in-all a lovely place to spend quality beach time. Would definitely return. :-)

The outside of the property is well maintained. It is right across from the beach which is a big plus. The unit we had was a little tired but clean. We understand how timeshares work, so not having maid service was no big deal. If you asked for clean towels they were delivered promptly. This resort was good value for the money.

Love being across from the beach
Arrived on a Saturday afternoon and received all my keys and information from the office personnel. They were informed, gracious and very helpful with all our questions and needs. The room we had was on the upper 2nd level and near their office. (Good choice...QUIET). The room we had contained a kitchen with all the functions needed to prepare and cook for ourselves. Large stove/oven, large microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender and basic pots and pans with utensils. That was a plus. Beach towels were provided and basic bath essentials too. The large king size bed was comfortable and afforded a good night's rest. Chairs and tables outside our door if we decided to sit on the balcony and a really well kept pool in the back area with barbecue capabilities. Easy walk to the beach and ocean. We were provided with beach chairs and umbrella upon request from the office. Parking is easy too.
