Delphi is located in theheart of Connemarain the west of Ireland, and is just 8.5 miles from ConnemaraNational Park. There is ample opportunity to explore the uniquelandscape of CountyMayo, and the bordering CountyGalway, by bike, foot or car.

The Mweelra Mountain hasa range of hiking trails, including some easier routes and, for the moreseasoned hiker, steep summits from which to take in the incredible views of theriver and valley below.

Don’t be fooled by the name, which translates to“smooth bald hill”. The Mweelra Mountain is thehighest point in County Mayo and stands at animpressive 814 metres.

Therange consists of five peaks, flanked on one side by Killary Harbour, Ireland’sonly real fjord, and on the other by Doolough Pass, a glaciated valley.

A haven for rare flora and fauna, the neighbouringConnemara National Park is most noted for itsdiversity of bird life. It spans 2,957 hectares of beautiful mountain ranges, sliced by dramatic rivers and deep valleys. The area is covered in purplemoorgrass, creating a unique, colourful landscape.
