The motel is dated (blue bathtub). No electrical plugin in the bathroom, only one on the night table in our room. The bed was clean and comfy. No air conditioning. Just a fan. The breakfast was a farce. The 1st morning there was bread for toast (nothing to put on the toast only a common paper cup with margerine) cereal but no bowls, no mik for cereral, I found a container that had expired two weeks earlier and still in the fridge, small stale muffins. No plates, cups from a punch bowl set, no mugs of any kind. There is an ice container, but they offer ice. The biggest problem was that they get staff to work there. There was only one lady who managed the desk, cleaned the rooms and done the breakfast. They should forget the breakfast, do some renos and charge a reasonable rate. Way to expensive for what you receive. We won't be returning.

We are still working on renovations but with the busy season, it has been a little difficult at this time but we have been doing what we can at this time. Our breakfast hours are from 7am to 9am daily so we apologize if you came in when the breakfast was over. If the items you mentioned above were not handy, the staff would have had no problem suppling you with the items as staff is normally present in the office during this time.We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us and we thank you for the feedback so that we can address these situations so they do not happen again.

When i arrived the tv wasnt working and no wifi. Office was closed at 430pm. I called about the tv and wifi, was told someonenwas in there way. No one mentioned they had to come from home. Zero communication and not an ounce of care in the world. After 15 mins i called back. She told me the on call personnwas on the way. After another 45 mins of waiting i called again, same lady but this time said she couldn't get a hold of the on call person that she would come, after 20 more mins of waiting she still hadnt shown. I called again and man answered, i told him my story and wanted my money back. And i did get my money bacl and stayed somewhere else. But they refunded only 133.87 of 163.40 i spend so i had to spend 1.5 on the phone to get my ither 29.00 bucks back. They asked me if inwanted a room at another hotel of theres. Why would i give money to people who left me.eaiting for 1.5 hours and lied to me. Never stay here

2nd time I've stayed here. A very convenient location, close to Yarmouth. Unfortunately we had no internet service. Others did but not us. Perhaps our carrier is at fault. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Staff was very friendly. It's too bad there isn't more lighting and outlets in room. That would be more convenient. Great coffee in morning.

They are renovating so the room was nice but a few things just not complete. I believe air conditioning will come but we didn’t need it anyway. Staff lovely and the room was very clean and comfortable.

This place was nice and clean, but there was no hot water for showering. I could understand if it just happened, but upon speaking with others staying there it had been all week. Of course it wasn't mentioned at check in.

This property was not terrible, but it was in poor state of repair and missing many amenities one would expect from a motel. It felt more like a neglected air BNB. There were some positives though. There was ample room and beds. The view of the lake was beautiful and the proximity to town was perfect.

It reminds us a bad experience we had at a property with a cheep owner. We left before breakfast time (8 am to 9 am). It looks he don't want people to breakfast to put as short and late schedule. ...and there's signs outside saying welcome workers we have weekly rates. Whos workers start after 9am? Not sure, but it was the only possibility in the area. It ok for a quick stay.

Hi William, I am sorry NovaStar Motel did not meet your expectations. We do not have a/c, that is correct, nor do we advertise anywhere that we do. Honestly, the "heat" is causing an issue 2 to 3 days every summer on average. Thanks to windows in the front and back and an almost constant breeze from the waters our guests sleep comfortably. We do offer extra fans for all rooms and I hope those were offered to you upon request. We have worked hard over the past years, since taking over the business. The unit you have stayed in got a new bathroom already and we will work on the finishing touches and the bedroom area next. One step at a time. Have a wonderful day.

Hi Nicholas, Thank you for your 2 cents. I am sorry, we did not meet your expectations. We just got three truckloads of new furniture, we have some brand new renovated rooms and the entire outside got a facelift recently. The walkway looked too rough for my taste as well, but it has been painted already and looks great again. The goal is to have all rooms renovated, while keeping the old school motel vibes alive. The pandemic has thrown many rocks our way, but believe me - we never stopped. We appreciate your opinion and maybe we will see you in a couple years from now and blow your mind. ;)

We ended up leaving because it was too hot and muggy for a small room without air conditioning. The receptionist was very nice and found us an extra fan but that just wasn't going to work in that climate. Clean updated room with kitchenette would have been fine except for that, the big windows didn't open and the small windows didn't provide enough air flow. We would have never been able to sleep.

The Nova Star motel is nothing really special. It has a bed and microwave and mini-fridge. I felt like $165.00 a night was way too high for a very outdated room(The tub was green). If they arent going to update the rooms then dont charge for it. The room also came "contanental breakfast" special k and orange juice. It was not a good value for money.

Unfortunately, one of our newer staff had not noticed the virtual card information on file and therefore charged you in person upon arrival. On Monday, when back in the office, I would have caught the mistake and had definitely reached out to you to issue the refund. I am glad Keisha was able to do it while you were there. We don't keep money that is not ours. The overcharge also did not happen intentionally and staff will be reminded to pay extra attention to the prepaid bookings. I am sorry you feel this way. The WiFi password is displayed inside the room, but I agree with you on that. You should have been give the information during check-in. Regards,

the windows on the back side of property were lovely. Fresh air and privacy bc faced a sloping hill. There was no blanket on the bed nor an extra one provided in the room. When I realized this I was ready to turn in for the night and the office was closed. hard to explain what hotel was thinking. I slept in my clothes. The office worker was entirely friendly and tried to help me but she did not know the area or have control over the fridge in the rm needing a proper defrosting. Motel was 10 min from ferry dock so that was nice. bed was comfy. stools at counter were too short for the height of the table/countertop, wifi was super, nice rm darkening blinds, bedside table and small lamp were also very short so not useful for reading.

Motel was okay, nothing special. No coffee pot in the room, and even though staff said coffee and continental breakfast would be available in the morning, no staff showed up, waited 30 minutes and someone else told us to call the manager who works / lives down the highway, and she did come when called.

Sept. 9-10. Two bedroom apartment. Unable to park near stairs to second floor room. Had to carry luggage from front to back of motel. Walkway broken and uneven. Stairs poorly lighted. Lights over door did not work. Stinking garbage overflowing can at foot of stairs. Bare lightbulb hanging from ceiling. AC pumping hot air. Floor crawling with spiders. Stains under bathroom sink and around tub. Ripped wallpaper around toilet. Rust in medicine cabinet. Burned out lightbulbs. Hairdryer detached from wall. Loose cables dangling from holes in wall. Rumpled and wrinkled sofa slipcover. Windows did not open. No ice machine. No milk for cereal in breakfast room (told "We ran out").

Good stay for the money. I'd stay again.
Nice little place . Great view, conveniently located. Small rooms but clean. Older property but pretty well kept. Only 2 pillows and the bed was uncomfortable to me.

We made our reservation but did not stay at this property. The room is antiquated and small and located in a noisy area without air conditioning. only a small fan for ventillation and would not have been able to open window because of party noise and traffic noise. Desk attendant was unable to reimburse our reservation money so will have to persue that through Expedia.

Good Morning Ivan, I am very sorry to hear you were unhappy with your room. I checked you in personally and was at the office for quite some time after your arrival, fully available to discuss any issues. You did not mention any dissatisfaction when I walked you into your room and showed you around. We have had a small group of people having a barbeque and playing some music in the gazebo, so not right by your room. The volume was totally acceptable for an afternoon get together and I assured you that we are strict on our quiet time later in the day. We provide a barbeque for our guests to enjoy the nice view and their vacation. Those guests did not cause any trouble to anyone. Since you have signed an agreement with a third party, which is expedia, changes need to be made with that party. Yes, front desk personnel is not authorized to issue refunds in that case, since there are commission processes involved, etc. We are being very transparent on all booking channels about the exterior, interior and location of our property. We do not advertise having air conditioning in all of our units. The temperature in your room was good and a nice breeze was blowing that day. We have windows in the front and back of our rooms and the circulation that day was given. I am unsure what your expectations were and I am sorry they were not met. I hope you found a place to stay that suits your needs better. Have a good weekend.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the area is a little too far to go downtown by foot. Everything seemed normal until the taxis would get to the rooms near us on multiple occasions and honk their horn for the tenant to see him. Hello Stephane, Thank you for your feedback. I am happy to read that you find our staff friendly and helpful. They truly are and I will make sure they receive your feedback. I am sorry that your stay was disturbed by noise on multiple occasions. We only have one person staying with us as a longer term guest, who is an older lady that is very respectful and quiet. It must have been a regular guest and I will check my cameras to see if there is a good reason for me to ban this person. A 2/5 rating always hurts my hospitality heart a bit, but it is important for us, since there are some things that we can change to make everyone more comfortable. Have a great weekend.

Very clean room. I was very nice that the man who checked us in made sure we were staying cool enough in the warm weather by giving us an ice cold Mountain Dew.
