About this property

Gables Bend | Daylesford Pool + Spa, Walk to Town

  • Summary:

Gables Bend is a two-bedroom Daylesford home with its own pool and outdoor spa, a short walk from the cafés of Vincent Street. The king bedroom has a fireplace and doors to the deck. The queen room and a sofa bed take the total to six. Full kitchen, dishwasher, washer and dryer, fast Wi-Fi and a desk. Lake Daylesford, Hepburn Bathhouse and the Sunday Market are all close. Pets allowed, free parking and self check-in.

    The Space:

Gables Bend is a two-bedroom Daylesford home with a private pool and outdoor spa, a short walk from town. Coffee happens on the deck above the water. The day ends by the fire in the king bedroom.

    The Space

The open-plan living room is bright and wide, with deep blue velvet sofas, a Smart TV and sliding glass doors onto the deck. The dining table seats the whole group, and board games and books are on the shelf for a wet afternoon.

The kitchen is set up for real cooking: a stainless steel gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, freezer, toaster, kettle, a Nespresso machine and the cooking basics. Bring home a bag from the Sunday Market and cook it here.

A split system heats and cools the house. Radiant heaters and ceiling fans cover the cold mornings and warm afternoons. It is a single-level home with a private entrance, a smart lock and self check-in, so arrival suits your timetable.

    Sleeping Arrangements

The main bedroom has a king bed, an electric fireplace and sliding doors onto the deck. The second bedroom has a queen bed. A sofa bed in the living room suits one adult or two children, for six guests in all. Black-out blinds, extra pillows and blankets, hair dryer, iron and fresh linen are supplied, with a washing machine and dryer in the house.

    Work and Connectivity

Fast Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace mean a Friday of video calls can come before the weekend. Long stays are welcome, and the laundry and full kitchen make a week or a month easy.

    Pool, Spa and Garden

The back of the house is the reason to book. A private deck looks straight down onto the pool and the outdoor spa, both for your group only. The spa sits under its own pergola, sun loungers line the pool, and the BBQ and outdoor dining setting turn lunch into the main event. The pool is seasonal. The garden is private, pets are allowed, and parking is on site.

    The Neighbourhood

Walk into town along Vincent Street for sourdough at Himalaya Bakery opposite the Town Hall, brunch at Koukla inside Hotel Frangos, and a pint at the Farmers Arms Hotel. Cliffy's Emporium on Raglan Street does the famous lamb pies. GRAIN at Daylesford Brewing Co pours the local beer with dinner.

Lake Daylesford is ringed by the 2.8 km Peace Mile Walk, with The Boathouse Restaurant on the water and Lake House on the far shore. Jubilee Lake has boat hire and trout. Up the hill, Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens has a lookout tower, and the Convent Gallery holds seven galleries next door.

Hepburn Springs is minutes away. Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa has offered mineral bathing since 1895, and the Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve has pumps to fill your own bottle. Catch a show at the Hepburn Palais or a round at Hepburn Springs Golf Club.

On Sundays, the Daylesford Sunday Market fills the station grounds and the Daylesford Spa Country Railway runs to Musk and Bullarto. Sault at Sailors Falls is a five-minute drive, Passing Clouds winery about seven, and Lavandula at Shepherds Flat about ten. Istra Smallgoods and Daylesford Cider make a tasting loop through Musk.

Walkers can follow Sailors Creek from Tipperary Springs, or circle the crater rim at Mount Franklin in Hepburn Regional Park. Creswick is about 20 minutes away, and Piper Street in Kyneton about 40.

For practical needs, Daylesford Health runs a 24/7 Urgent Care Centre. V/Line coaches link town with Woodend and Ballarat stations for trains to Southern Cross.

    Best For

Couples who want a fireplace and a private spa. Two couples sharing a long weekend. Small families who want a pool and a garden without a hotel. Anyone bringing the dog.

The property is within walking distance of central Daylesford, making it easy to enjoy the town’s cafés, restaurants, shops and galleries on foot.

For exploring beyond the town centre, we recommend travelling by car. The studio next door is self-contained with its own private entrance and garden area. While each space offers privacy, we kindly ask guests to be mindful of others if both properties are occupied.

If you’re travelling with a larger group, the studio can also be booked alongside the main house — ideal for families or friends wanting to stay together with additional space.
