The weather didn't cooperate with our plans, but the house did! It was perfect for our needs. We really appreciated the location and the view of the forest.
We had a great time here. If you need to get away from the stresses and problems of your daily life, this cabin offers a quaint and quiet spot for tranquility.
We enjoyed a nice stay in the West Virginia mountains, with a comfortable fire in the fireplace and two feet of snow around us. The cabin is comfortable and well equipped, and the host was outstanding.
The property and cabins are beautiful. Nice views, quiet, friendly and felt very safe. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We watched deer in the woods right behind our cabin from our porch. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the fireplace every night of our week-long stay. We hated to leave.
We had a great time at the Rest Assured cabin! We planned our trip to see the Perseids meteor shower and couldn’t have asked for a better spot - we saw tons of shooting stars. We also enjoyed hiking in Dolly Sods and exploring Davis. With 2 humans and a dog, we had more than enough room. We enjoyed the patio and grill, and walking around the Black Bear Resort.
Rest Assured cabin in Big Bear Resort was absolutely perfect! We love to mountain bike and the Chris Cowley trail was exactly 1 mile from the cabin. This magnificent trail ended on Camp 70 Road where many of the famous Davis trails start including Hoodoo and Moon Rocks. When we were not out mountain biking, we were enjoying many amenities of the resort including the recently renovated pool and 9 holes of mini golf. The staff at the resort were friendly and helpful. The cabin itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay top notch. This is a pet friendly cabin and our 2 dogs enjoyed many walks on the trail around the resort and they enjoyed finding a sunny spot on the porch to rest in the great setting. The host of the property is attentive and communicative. There was not one negative thing about our 5 day stay! We made great memories and truly hope to return again!
Beautiful location with all the woods and very very clean. My only downside for this place was it wasn’t a true 3 bedroom as 2 of the rooms did not have a 4th wall. Made navigating the space with children very difficult for naps and bedtime. Being multiple sound machines and it can work.
Loved the cabin it was in a quiet resort community and had everything we needed. Would recommend this to anybody wanting to get away a relax, close to cute towns with unique shopping and restaurants with amazing food.
We had a great experience, the cabin was clean, cozy and had essential items there for us. The environment is quiet and beautiful there’s lots of woods to explore.
Cozy cabin for a cold winter weekend in Canaan Valley. Enjoyed the view of the snowy woods from the warmth of the living room.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Cabin was very cold upon arrival. Bath tub possibly had black mold on paneling. Beds were uncomfortable. Only two small logs left next to fireplace. No wood outside like was in pics. We were made to purchase a damage insurance policy for 59 which is ridiculous. Couldn’t wait to leave.
Our mid-May, mid-week stay was quiet and peaceful. It was right in the middle of our hiking at Dolly Sods and Blackwater Falls State Park. The cabin was layed out great, had all we could ask for. We enjoyed a nice fire three nights.
The Cabin was peaceful and warm, unfortunately our stay was cut short for personal reasons. Made you feel away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life!
We were in town for the Highlands Sky 40 mile race. The cabin was perfect for our needs. The resort was quiet and centrally located to Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley. There are tons of trails and wilderness in the area to explore. The cabin was cozy and comfortable, and deceivingly roomy. Laura and Jeff were great to work with, and very responsive. We'd love to stay here again!
This is a very nice little cabin that was just as described. Very clean and extremely well equipped with anything you might need. Beautiful forest view off the two decks. Excellent communication with the owner Laura. She was quick to answer questions and also provided additional helpful info about the area. Would absolutely stay here again and would recommend to anyone wishing to explore Canaan Valley/Monongahela/Blackwater Falls.

Nice cabin, functional in most cold nights.
The coldest night we experienced was 9 degrees f; the cabin was fine. (Keep the supply of wood inside dry. If you anticipate cooking pancakes, bring your own large frypan or grill.) The deer came up to the cabin's back on snowy days.
