Northwoods F2, nicknamed Slopeside Retreat, is a beautifully updated walk-to-slope first floor condo. Enjoy the ease of access to Timberline Mountain Ski Resort off the back deck and across the wooden walkway to stunning, downhill skiing. But don't let the name fool you. This property is the perfect couple's retreat year round. Short drives to local state parks, the National Wildlife Refuge and the unique small towns of Davis and Thomas. This condo is the perfect home base for exploring wild, wonderful Tucker County. 



Canaan Valley, truly the mid-Atlantics playground, is nestled in the scenic Hills of West Virginia, and boasts world-class skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting and fishing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing, and golfing. With easy access to National Forest Lands, Wildlife Refuge, Wilderness areas, and two State Parks, explore the endless possibilities here. Your family will enjoy our quaint mountain towns and shop or browse in our many antique, gift and specialty shops or enjoy some fairs and festivals.



Tucker County has 4 breathtaking seasons to enjoy. In the winter, we pick up much of our annual 150 snowfall from the Great Lakes whenever strong Northwesterly winds drop out of Canada. Spring brings some of the best hunting and fishing, and wildflowers. Escape the heat of summer where temperatures rarely exceed the mid 80s. Autumn brings cool temperatures and blazing colors of our extensive hardwood forests.

Nice stay for a hiking getaway with my husband. We hiked the Dolly Sods and Blackwater State Park, this was the perfect location to explore hiking trails in the area.

Walk to slopes, cozy apartment, let's the dog come too! High quality appliances, utensils, kitchen tools, etc. Really super fun selection of VHS cassettes and cable! What more could you ask for? Maybe a few games in that table that doubles as a storage bin?

Had a wonderful stay. The space was super cozy, perfect for two people. Really loved all the hiking nearby. Super easy and very organized. Responses were prompt. Check in and check out was very easy.

Perfect place to get away for a weekend! In the winter it is probably full of people but in the off season it was quiet. You are close enough to main towns to get anything you may need. The place had everything we needed (linens, kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies, etc.).

Perfect place to spend a quiet weekend in the summer. You can go walking around the ski area and get to everything you could need with a 15 minute drive! Your team was fantastic! We had a minor issue with the electric and they did offer to get an electrician out but we said it was fine. They also allowed us to check out at noon vs 1030 which was perfect.

Perfect for two people. Well appointed kitchen. Comfortable bed. Lovely sliding glass door to small deck. Very convenient to Davis and Dolly Sods. Whatever we needed, we found it - extra pillows, a fly swatter, etc. Lovely, well appointed unit with a great location. This is a four-season destination! N/a

Great mountain getaway property. It was cozy and had all the furnishings we needed for a long weekend. The pet friendly unit was perfect to take our dog and we were very comfortable. The layout with the kitchen connected to cozy living room eith fireplace was fantastic and the bed was comfortable. Others have mentioned the toilet not flushing properly which was a concern, but as long as we held the handle down longer it wasn't a big problem. Having to take the trash down the road to the office wasn't convenient since we don't have a truck, so we recommend bringing a couple large black trashbags to put it in for extra protection in the trunk. We'd definitely stay again and hope we're able to during ski season for a couple nights.

Nicely decorated and close to hikes and Davis. Fridge and microwave didn’t work Toilet required extra water in tank to flush Left message and message was missed. As a result, no maintenance on first day. 2nd day refrigerator and microwave fixed, but toilet wasn’t. You need to take your trash when you leave to the Timberline dumpster, but we could not find it. We had to take our trash home with us. Was the perfect place for our weekend getaway if maintenance wasn’t a problem.

Whoever answered the phone at the office about the beeping coming from the control panel in the closet, had an attitude and said “well did you look at the reading?” The company sent a minimum of 6 emails which is ridiculous, obviously we did not memorize all of the emails

The only potential issue was that the door handle seemed to stick so even when the door was unlocked, sometimes the lock wouldnt engage. You might want to get a locksmith to fix it. We managed to get in every time, but it requires some finessing. Excellent, clear instructions and easy check-in/ check-out.
