"Clean and cozy apartment, Host very easy to communicate with, had everything we needed, excellent TV and Sound Bar, comfortable furnishings, has microwave, stove, coffee pot, microwave and restaurant quality toaster oven, laundry equipment was neat it’s a washer dryer combo, comfy bed, some traffic noises as expected for being in a downtown locationOtherwise it was very nice we would stay there again. "Clean room and friendly helpful staff…when I arrived room was being cleaned. However the “kitchen” and bar were closed on Mondays. Unknown to me at the time of booking. No beer at night and no coffee in the morning. Communication during booking thru to arrival was a bet sketchy. But it all worked out."

"The Fens was an excellent spot for my wife and I and our dog to spend our holiday weekend. Small but comfortable and cozy, it has all the modern amenities we needed for our stay, and the large windows afforded plenty of light to come in and made it feel spacious. Kathleen was very easy to communicate with and made us feel welcome and comfortable. The location was private and quiet and nestled in a wooded area near Blackwater Falls and the nearby artsy towns of Davis and Thomas. We would not hesitate to visit again."

"Voyager Rest is a truly unique house. It is situated on over 7 lovely acres with amazing views. It is a secluded, quiet (except for birds singing), and relaxing location. The kitchen is particularly well equipped with most anything you would need. The covered deck off the living area was a favorite place to be for all of us."

"This was my very first visit to the Canaan Valley area personally. My girlfriend has spent every family vacation in the area for the last 20 years but her first time in Black Bear Resort. We were not disappointed. This cabin is at the end of a drive in the resort so it makes it quiet. Fishing pond right over the hillside. Perfect views of sunsets and sunrises bc it sits up a little bit above other cabins. Deck is perfect for anything, especially coffee and breakfast before you venture out for the day. I really loved it was pet friendly (they even provide food/water bowls). DEFINITELY want to bring DVDs with you bc the TV is not a smart one that connects to the internet for streaming but it does have fuzzy cable. The living room table top lifts up and makes a perfect place to play cards or leave it down for a spacious place to play a board game. The first couple nights we were there, it was quite chilly so we built a fire. The jacuzzi tub was PHENOMENAL for two girls who LOVE a good bath. I can’t say enough good things about this place. The host was very informative and responsive for everything. Overall, it was a great first experience and we are planning on trying to spend every anniversary here. "
