Blue Bayou - Private boat launch, beach access and deep canal
Blue Bayou is a pet-friendly (2-Pet Maximum Limit), 4/2 on a deep-water canal leading into Graveline Bay on the north side if the island. Tie your crab pots right to your deck for dinner! Bring your boat and launch right out of your back yard in your private boat launch. The view is amazing, overlooking the canal and then a low-lying undeveloped peninsula of natural shoreline between you and Graveline Bay, a truly peaceful and scenic perspective that will melt away any worries as you watch birds, dolphins and boats. The house is a remodeled beach house built int 1990. It has modern kitchen appliances, new and comfortable bedroom furniture and an open living and dining space, overlooking the bay. The master bedroom has a private sitting room where you can ease into your morning, watching the world over a cup of coffee. The house is 0.7 miles from the public beach, 1.2 miles from the St. Stephens access point, if you would prefer to walk, you can take a path across protected dunes just south of the house. That walk is 0.25 miles and takes you through natural dunes to an undeveloped beachfront.
The property does have a washer and dryer located in the downstairs storage room. The storage room is an unfinished space used for storage.
As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!
Please note the following: 1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay. 2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time. 3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking. 4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance. 5. This property does not allow weddings or parties. 6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am. 7. Start dishes and linens before departure. 8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night. 9. This home is pet-friendly, dogs only, 2-Pet Maximum Limit - $100 pet fee per dog applies.

What an amazing weekend, the house was great, had a great view and both properties on either side were empty, so was very quiet, fished right off the deck. Spent most of the weekend on the back porch just enjoying the breeze and atmosphere. We will be back!!
We stayed at Blue Bayou on Dauphin Island and really enjoyed our stay. The house is located in such a position that you can see both the sunrise and sunset over the water. The back porch faces the Dauphin Island bridge and Mobile Bay and the front of the house has a beach/ocean view. If you have a boat, this house is ideal as it has a launch right out into the bay. Otherwise, you can fish right off the dock. We caught a croaker and some crab and saw/heard fish jumping almost constantly. There is a sandbar type area right across from the house with tons of wildlife to see.
There is a lot of seating both in the house and outside. There is a grill downstairs. There is plenty of kitchen equipment - blender, pots and pans, toaster oven, microwave, etc.
There is no hair dryer and the fan in the hallway bathroom sounds like a screaming dolphin. The sound goes away after a few minutes but hopefully that can be fixed.
The beds are comfortable and there are tvs in every room. Some are smart tvs.
The beach is under a 10 minute walk across the street and over the sand dunes or you can drive to private parking areas in less than 2 minutes.
We had a wonderful stay (2 parents and kids ranging in age from 4-18) and we hope to come again!
A perfect location for access to the Mississippi Sound and fishing. Boat launch is nice and very little boat traffic through this area. Great property and location!
We stayed 4 days at the house and enjoyed fishing right off the deck. We also kayaked right behind the house, huge benefit having the boat launch area. The realty company was amazing! They checked to make sure we got into the property and that we had everything we needed. Access to the beach was a little more of a walk than I thought it would be but not bad. We visit Dauphin Island yearly and will definitely rent from them again.
The people at Daulphin Realty cancelled my insurances, travel and rain because I called and told them we weren’t coming because of storms. They are idiots. Did they expect me to go all the way just to sit in rain and high winds? I did not tell them to cancel my insurances. Never ever will I book with these folks again.
Well to start with we requested early check in 3 days prior and never received a response at all. It says plenty of parking and there is room for one boat and one truck maybe one small car under house. Driveway is shared with neighboring property. The house is not directly on the water there is a large house between making view obstructed. The boat launch is impossible for any boat over 16 feet. Due to having to back around the neighboring house to get to launch. The house itself is nice. The neighbors were not happy we were there, very rude. I made photos if anyone would like to see. Message me.
The house has just recently been updated very nicely. It is stocked very well, everything is available that you might need. The back balcony is very nice and large and the view over the water is gorgeous. Except for early morning the balcony is in the shade, which makes sitting out a pleasure. The floor plan of the house is split with a large living space and kitchen in the middle and two bedrooms on each side. The central A/C unit must not be able to keep up with the summer heat and the owner installed an additional three mobile window units which help keep the temperature down during the heat of midday, they are a little noisy, but we did not need them more than a few hours in the afternoon. There are lots of places to sit everywhere in the house and outside. Plenty of room for parking, balconies in the front and the back and a large deck for fishing, landing a boat of just hanging out. We loved accessing the beach across the street, it is the least busy stretch of beach. We were able to leave our umbrella, chairs, etc at the beach over night without any problems. It takes about 7 minutes to walk to the beach. Dogs are allowed on the beach on a leash, although we never saw anyone enforcing that rule. The beach is wide and has very fine white sand. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay.
