""Villa Delphinus"" (named for the leaping dolphin constellation) was built 2008 and has a large, wrap-around, partially covered deck for panoramic views of the Gulf and Bay. The interior is bathed in that magical seaside light and features a vaulted living room, bamboo flooring, 2 bedrooms with queen beds, a third bedroom with a duo-bunk, and a sleeper sofa in the living room, 2 porcelain tiled bathrooms, and spacious, open living, dining, and kitchen areas. And, like all our great Dauphin Island vacation rentals, the kitchen is fully outfitted with everything you'll need for a great vacation. Please be advised of the following information prior to placing a Reservation: Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25 and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay. The location and the views were the best! The home is nice, but is in need of a little maintenance. The microwave took 5 minutes just to soften butter. Never could get it to melt. The oven control panel has been pushed in. It still works, at least. The doors are very hard to latch when closing. Probably due to the salt water. The deck gives amazing views, but the railing is a little sketchy. 2 of the 3 loungers were broken as well as one of the 4 blue beach chairs. These things did not bother us too much. Just thought you should be aware. We would definitely recommend this place! Water views from every room. We loved being able to just walk down the stairs to the beach. Very convenient. The beaches were fairly private, clean and quiet. Not a lot of tourist activities on the island, makes for a very relaxing vacation. Even in the 100 degree heat, the breeze coming off the ocean made it nice. Breathtaking views of the sunrises, sunsets and the full moon was indescribable! ##### Jan H. Overall a cute house, but these pictures they used are years old it seems. This house needs alot of work. There are outside doors that dont close properly, windows that are broken- we had to be careful with our little ones because they could have easily cut themselves, the deck needs boards replaced- very unsafe, again my little ones could have easily fallen off the deck through the hole they tried to cover with a propane tank or the broken spindles that needed to be reattached to deck. The air conditioning did not work when we got there- we contacted property manager and they did send someone out the same night, unfortunately we were without air for the night as they had to replace the air conditioning unit the next day. They then proceeded to leave the ladder up on the outside of the house for our whole week stay- and again the little ones could have easily climbed up this if we were not paying full attention. Overall the property was decorated very nicely and was in a nice location on the island. If we ever did decide to come back we would not be staying at this property. ##### Kaylee P. The house is perfectly located near the west end of island. Very quiet area. Nice beach, nice wrap-around patio, well-appointed home. I should note: we visited the area in low season - as well as after the area being impacted by two late season hurricanes - so there were not a lot of restaurants open. The WiFi at the house was also very spotty, at best, so if planning to work or be "connected" while onsite, a visitor might want to plan for alternative internet source. ##### Lea F. We were right on the water, very comfortable, well equipped kitchen, and the sound of the waves made our nights relaxing. We will definately return. The only concern is all the steps. I have a spinal implant and my daughter RA and this was a challenge. A "lift" would be great. But, worth it for all the "great things". ##### James T. It was amazing to see all the sea life from the porch above the water. Overall it was an amazing trip. It was super relaxing which we needed after the work year we've had. Only negative thing we encountered. Was on the last night the water had come up significantly under the house and this made logs/ lumber come up with it. They kept crashing into the stilts of the house. Shaking/thunderous noises happened. It made it hard to sleep. Other than that it was a perfect stay! ##### Kelly F. Loved the sunny days and cloudy days. The house has a lot of deferred maintenance. Plus I did see a few cockroaches. Ick. The cleaners need to tend to the fan blades, the light fixtures and wipe down the counters behind the kitchen sink and where it is difficult to reach. The kitchen drawers were not clean. I found some pet hair on the equipment. But the setting was stupendous. For the money I would have expected the condition to be clean. MdeP ##### Marie de Putron S. Breath taking scenery!! The house has some motion going on the entire time. If you have Equilibrium issues this is not the place for you. During the winter time this is not the place to think you’re going to eat out as there is nothing around you and I believe Walmart was 45 minutes away for groceries. If you were truly going to relax and have seclusion this is the perfect place.I personally wish there was more toiletries available. I marked it for people were going and it was just two of us and we ran out of toilet paper, along with dishwashing liquid the necessities at least have that in the contract. Luckily I took my own hair dryer because there was not one. ##### Teresa T.
