Our family from the UK was visiting, and we wanted them to have a great Michigan lake cottage experience. This was perfect for our needs, and the kids had so much fun paddleboarding and fishing off the dock! We all enjoyed the fires, and had a fantastic time. Thank you for a great place!
Great cabin!! Plenty of room for everyone. Clean and cozy. Could use a rake and shovel for the beach and fire pit. Propane ran out after one grilling. Other than that amazing.
Quaint, cozy, and convenient. Went for a weekend getaway without the kids, this rental met the need. Close to Edmore and 20-25 minutes from Mount Pleasant. Love the view and fire pit was great. Paddle boards were fun. As far as the TV goes, it is only used for playing DVDs and VHS. Was hoping to have some other football games on, but was not a big deal.

Cute cottage but needs a good deep cleaning and lots of routine maintenance done!
Property is a great location, perfect for a getaway from the hustle and bustle with family.
BUT, needs work(especially the back deck and lots of broken outdoor furniture!) and a good deep clean.. under beds, above cupboards, under/around furniture is VERY dirty. Vacuum does not work to clean up after little kids meal times (everything is carpet) Water smells horrible - definitely bring lots of bottle water for drinking, brushing teeth and cooking - we couldn’t even stand it to shower.
Lots of dishes and cookware available which is great! Paddle boards were fun and kids loved fishing off the dock!
We had a great time at this well-built cabin. The kitchen was wonderful and quite clean with plenty of dishes and pans. We enjoyed the comfortable living area and the privacy of the bedrooms--each bedroom is separated from the other with the thick walls, closets etc. The bathroom could use some updates in the shower/tub area-like get rid of the rusty soap and shampoo holder. We did appreciate how well supplied with towels, tissues, etc. The outdoor area is wonderful with the 2 decks-one in sun, the other shade. We appreciated the water, paddle boards and sandy beach and that there is quite a few feet of sandy bottom on the lake before the weeds. The upper deck and railings to the lower deck could use updating. It would have been nice to have a DVD player, also. There are DVD's but no player. Over all, this is a beautifully built cabin with everything you need plus more!
This was a super cute lake house on a quiet lake. We had 4 adults and 3 children in this trip and we spent the majority of our time outside and in the water! The paddle boards and kayak were a hit, the swim beach is clean, and the lake is beautiful. If you don’t like seaweed/muck on the bottom of the lake when you swim you may want to bring some swim shoes. Great fishing right off the dock!
The house had plenty of shower and beach towels. If you have a big group you may want to bring some extra outdoor lounge chair, there were 2 broken chairs when we arrived and the remaining 3 were a bit sketchy as to their strength. Bring life vests as there are none at this property. Most standard kitchen supplies/utensils available. Bring your own toiletries and paper products. The bbq grill is pretty rusted out but still is functional as well.
Lisa was very responsive to questions! Overall this was a great property and we had a lovely vacation!!
House was awesome neighbors very friendly. Only bad thing is water very low and very mucky hard to swim in at cottage. Used boat launch down road sandy there
Lisa is an exceptional host. The house is fully stocked with many bonus extras. The view is divine but the thick gooey muck was a bit of a let down for swimming on the lake. Lisa and even the very fun and kind neighbors shared how low the water in the lake was this year. We had a fabulous time.
We enjoyed our stay and the lake. There are some safety concerns with the deck and the steps. One child’s foot went through a step. The top railing is about to break. Several boards are sketchy We have enjoyed our stays. This was our 3rd year, but no improvements in that time
This is such a great location. Neighbors are kind and the lake provides endless fun. Firepit is great and right on the sand. The host was very responsive and kind when we ran out of propane for the grill.
We would stay again! It is a lovely place for a lake week. It was so nice to be able to use the paddle boards and there are plenty of towels both bath and beach to use. Beds were comfortable and cozy.
Perfect place for a family getaway with little ones (2,4, and 6). The kids loved the attic bedroom, which was kept plenty cool with the AC unit. Lake is a bit weedy around the floating dock, but we had a great time paddle boarding to the swimming area right around the bend (500 ft?) and playing on the beach. Lake was quiet with great fishing (caught tons of bluegill right off the dock). Cottage was well-stocked and comfortable. One bathroom was a little tight for the amount of people it slept, but we made it work. Host was quick with responses. Would recommend and stay again.
We had a nice time in the area, but the house was just ok. The lake was low and extremely mucky and weedy. We used the public access area down the street which was a bit better for swimming. Also, a heads up that there were no life vests for the paddle boards and kayak. The home could use some updates and furniture upgrades, but it was as pictured and overall clean. Just pay attention that the “loft” is an attic with a pull down ladder to access it.While the host responded quickly, we never received check in or out instructions via VRBO or email, and missed the laminated sheet left in the house. Yet, were still charged extra for not rolling out the trash or stripping the beds. Alas. Also, a neighbor warned us about a Doberman that walks around off leash a couple houses down and is not friendly. Do not approach. The pros: the view was lovely, the nearby cider mill and petting zoo were fun. It was fine for a weekend, but we wouldn’t recommend for a long week or if you want to swim if the lake is low.
Lots of beds in the house for a guys trip to the casino while also being able to stay on a lake. Nothing fancy but perfect for a weekend. Would recommend to anyone!
A few things to note or plan for if you stay here. 1. I had to reach out to the owner for the code to get in. We arrived after the posted check-in time, but the code was not in my messages. 2. The water is hard and smelly! We used bottled water for drinking, cooking, and teeth brushing. Bring a lot or prepare to go to the store. 3. Corn hole, although pictured, does not come with the property.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The beach was nice, the fire pit was great, the SUP's were awesome. Bring a fishing pole. 😊
