Although just minutes from Custer, you're truly in the country with hundreds of thousands of connected Forest Service acres to explore or simply view from the front porch. The cabin makes a great location as a home base for touring the many sites of the Black Hills. The cabin is fully furnished with high-speed fiber internet (great work from home location), expansive DirecTv package (also Roku with guest mode to bring your own streaming channels, too), air conditioner, kitchen appliances, flatware, linens, towels, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. It was one of the cleanest cabins I have stayed in, very comfortable with everything you need, I love the wood decor and all of the special touches, and the hosts are wonderful! The best part though for us is the outside! Remote location with miles of National Forest right out the door, great views of Crazy Horse and the hills, there was a small RV camping area over the hill to the one side, but we never saw another person out there. It is up off a lightly used gravel road which wasn't a problem for us, our dogs are pretty well trained, quickly learned their boundaries, and didn't go near it. The small/deck porch was organized such that I could also block off the entry/exit with a camping mat and hang out with the dogs there and not have to watch them.
