Was the perfect space for our family of four. Loved the special touches with the provided eggs and pancakes. Perfect location to explore Custer state park and Mount Rushmore. Beautiful views in a nice quite setting.
We loved our cabin it was adorable and had everything we needed. We got some goat meat to take home and try. We visited Custer state park and hiked 3 trails. We went to badlands np and had a meal at walls drug store. We hiked up to devils tower in Wyoming. We went to Mt Rushmore and saw evening show. Taking home many great memories we had with or grandsons.
We loved our cute cosy cabin. Beautifully decorated with everything you need. The location is great. Very peaceful in beautiful countryside but a short drive from Custer. Loved sitting on the deck in the evening and watching the amazing stars! Don’t hesitate to book!!
Susan has an awesome property in Custer, SD that these three cabins sit on. The cabins are well-appointed with everything you need to make breakfast each day - she even gives you six farm-fresh eggs at the beginning of your stay. There are dishes and utensils to make just about any meal you need to. The bathroom is a normal size with a shower stall. The water temp was great. The loft has two twin beds and a trundle. My family members said the loft beds were very comfortable. There’s a small table and lamp up there as well as a luggage rack. The bedroom is small and a bit difficult to maneuver around the bed if you keep the luggage in the room. We just kept our suitcase under the loft stairs and that helped a lot. The living room area is cozy, a full size couch that is also a sofa bed - we did not make use of that. The dining area is small but seats four comfortably - you could possibly seat six if people are small in stature. We did the goat farm tour and really enjoyed it! The town of Custer is small and this time of year it’s inundated with tourists so expect to move slowly through town. There is a grocery store about 15 mins from the property - it has everything and anything you may need.
I highly recommend hiking at Custer State Park. We also did the candlelight hike at Wind Cave National Park - an amazing, one-of-a-kind experience!! We also went to Mt. Rushmore - we spent the least amount of time there but I’m glad we went.
Don’t hesitate to book this cabin. You will NOT be disappointed.
Bottom line: Enough space for a family, cold AC, great wifi, beautiful views, starry nights, campfires. AMAZING.
We had an amazing time! We saw mule deer, elk, and white tail deer. We had a fun time in Custer and exploring the Black Hills. We for sure will return and recommend this property to anyone!
Not far from the town of Custer and the state park. Very fun to watch the goats and chickens from our front porch. Owner was very attentive and easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay here again when in the area!
The farm was a good location for us. Close drive to many places like Custer park / Mt Rushmore etc but a bit secluded to have some fresh air and peaceful views. The kids adored the goats and Susan was super nice taking them with her to feed the animals. The house was super cute and clean, just like the pictures. If opportunity arises we will definitely come again. I fully recommend it to anyone.
We really enjoyed our stay, we didn’t get much time on the farm but it was a perfect location for us to use as we ventured around the state park and badlands. Location was a few miles from town but was nice not to be in the crowds! Everything was great and as advertised.
We had a great stay, the cabin was very nice, clean and super cute. The front porch was the best part and wonderful quiet nature around us. Nice communication and helpful host. Thank you!!
We visited end of May 2020 and it was the perfect place to escape home, spend time in nature and unplug from the world! We all enjoyed the tour of the farm and having farm fresh eggs waiting for us in our refrigerator! Our family of 5 slept comfortably with the kiddos all in the loft. Thank you for such a wonderful experience and memories!
The cabin was a great refuge after two long days on the road. It was perfect for our small family and included everything we needed. The owners were very nice and even provided eggs from the chickens for us to enjoy. We loved starting our mornings having coffee on the patio watching the goats. We would highly recommend these cabins to anyone looking to stay in the Custer area.
This is a wonderful property! We had four adults and two children in our group and after traveling all day, we were overjoyed when we arrived at our cabin. The cabin was immaculate and just as pictured with beautiful farmhouse décor, comfortable beds and a welcome basket of treats. We arrived at dark but the next morning we enjoyed the breathtaking view of the mist rising from the valley while we watched the goats graze and play in the pasture. The owner stopped by to greet us with his two dogs. We spent the day exploring the Black Hills and then returned to the cabin to enjoy dinner from the grill on the porch and a campfire under the stars. We wished we had booked a whole week and will definitely return to this peaceful retreat!!
This cabin was beautiful. It was very clean, perfect for our family. The location was nice and the owners were very friendly. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the morning and having a fire in the evenings.
This trip pulled at our heartstrings as it was thee perfect place to enjoy family time! The beautiful view mixed with the “farm charm” of the cabin was fabulous to come back to every day! Location was tucked away but close to everything! Can’t say enough of the owners and hosts too! Helpful, kind, and just good people. Total package. It’s a gem!!
Our cabin was perfect! It was close to Custer, SD and many activities. Our hosts were willing to interact as much or as little as guests desired. We recommend contacting them in advance to arrange a farm tour, especially if you have kids. Our kids loved the goats, chickens, pigs, llama, and dogs - they knew many of the animals by name by the end of our stay. We made some great, lasting memories during our vacation!
The newly built cabin was thoughtfully designed and furnished with comfortable beds, a well-equipped kitchen, a fun loft for the kids, and a relaxing porch with a great view. We had our own grill and fire pit with seating. Laundry facilities and firewood were also available. As a mom, and our family’s primary vacation planner, I didn’t have anything to worry about because all our needs were met. We loved staying in this beautiful farmhouse-style cabin!
