Absolutely incredible cabin, tucked into the surrounding forest of the black hills, easy/scenic drives to many of the national park attractions and local towns, our family had wonderful time exploring the area with this as our home base.
We have gone to the Hills for a family get together for the last 10 years. This cabin is by far the best place ever! Spotlessly clean, spacious and stocked with all the essentials and more. Loved the hot tub and the awesome deck with the spectacular view! Such a peaceful and secluded location. We plan to come back next year for sure. Highly recommend!
Had a great time with family of 4 exploring the Black Hills area we lived the privacy and beauty of the property! Fully stocked kitchen and loved the pool table and hot tub! The fireplace was also nice for us as it snowed !
Beautiful and well appointed home on stunning land
We enjoyed a lovely three night stay and would highly recommend this property. Excellent communication from hosts, welcoming flowers and chocolate, cozy and beautiful home. We saw countless deer on the property and enjoyed the hottub and stunning deck. Many games available and a pool table led to great times with the kids.
We loved being able to get so secluded with this property, close enough to town to get whatever you need but not having to contend with neighbors was awesome. The house was super clean, roomy and in good condition, the bathrooms are amazing.
House was very well equipped and nicely furnished. The best part was the properties secluded location with National Forest Land surrounding it. Elk were bugling down the valley and the stars were awesome.
My whole family absolutely loved this property for the beauty of the land, the tranquility and the endless trails to explore. The property was well-furnished to accommodate any type of cooking or baking, which made it a perfect birthday experience. Thank you, Sharp family!
My wife and I and daughter stayed. At the property period it was one of the nicest VR BO properties we have ever stayed at. I would highly recommend period the view was spectacular. The home was immaculate and our host was excellent. Do not overlook this place when you are looking for a stay in the black hills.
Beautiful property, amazing views and close to major attractions. We had an amazing time making memories with our family. I have recommended this property to several friends and coworkers. Thank you for opening your home to us, and making us feel welcome. Great communication with the property owners and just an overall wonderful vacation!
This property is amazing. Private, quiet, big space inside and out, space for the dogs to run, close to the sites in Custer State Park and the town of Custer. If you are looking for a secluded get away, that is close enough to the things you want to do in the Southern Black Hills, this is the place. Dave was great at communicating with us, the house has all your cooking essentials from spices to cookware. We loved it, our kids loved it and our dogs loved it!
This was our second vacation at this house. If it was not good the first time we would not have been back. House is modern and clean, well stocked and set up for families. The quiet mornings are awesome. The fresh flowers and candy were a nice touch. Thanks Dave, for sharing this beautiful home and piece of the Black Hills. I hope all who visit will leave it just as beautiful as they found it.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Black Hills area has plenty of wonderful activities and attractions, so we had a week full of inspiring daytime adventures. Nonetheless, this property was the biggest hit of our stay. It is a peaceful, secluded, beautiful and relaxing setting that creates indelible memories all by itself. Campfires, hot tubbing, hiking on property, nature, wildlife, grilling, upgraded kitchen - the complete package. David was a wonderful host as well. Very highly recommended!
Cannot say enough about this property and host…beautiful, restorative, quiet, fully stocked, comfortable, spacious, responsive & communicative….
Know that you are getting remote and quiet. This is what our group wanted and it delivers perfectly! To include bugling elk!
Amazing kitchen and baths.
Beds were a touch soft for our crew, but that’s a very personal preference.
Fire ban in effect during our stay because it was so dry. We were looking forward to fires and I’m sure they would have been top notch with the beautiful and substantial fireplace and fire pit.
Thanks so much Dave & Sandy for creating such an amazing home and stewarding these very special lands.
There are no words that can describe the peacefulness and beauty of this property. It’s set in a beautiful little valley. The only sounds you hear are French Creek meandering through the property and the birds singing. The cabin is fully supplied with many items including shampoo, body wash and conditioner. Plenty of space for a group to spread out and relax on the wraparound deck. If that’s not enough jump in the nice hot tube or go down to the fire pit and make some s’mores. This place is perfect. Cannot say enough about our host Dave. He has great communication skills and will text you once in a while to see if there’s anything that you need to make your stay even better. You can’t go wrong renting this property. There were eight in our group and had room for more.
Our entire family enjoyed the stay. This house is large and beautiful with ample supplies and furnishings. The kitchen was well stocked. There is a good supply of toys and puzzles for the kids plus a pool table.
The house was very clean and everything in order.
Kids enjoyed bikes, picking wildflowers and berries and riding the trails in RZRs and especially the swing. The adults appreciated the quietness of the area, the amazing meadow of purple wildflowers in front of the house, sunrise coffee on the deck, the fire pit and the absence of traffic and noise.
The layout and design of the house provided privacy for each family and ample gathering places for meals. Grilled and ate meals on the large deck.
The baby turkeys were entertaining and a surprise.
The house is fabulous, Dave maintained daily contact with us ensuring we had all we needed and understood the access trail for the RZR.
I would recommend this house if you want to put your feet up, have a glass of wine and experience having a piece of the Black Hills all to yourself. Perfectly relaxing but only minutes from the bustle of tourist activities.
It's also perfect for bringing ATVs to go out on the many numbered trails accessible. Some of our group even got to climb the Bear Mountain Lookout Tower.
It's a ten!
Our favorite family vacation so far and it had a lot to do with where we stayed. The cabin was very modern, spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed for a good time. The kitchen was big and well-stocked, the beds were comfortable with nice linens. Eight of us stayed and we had plenty of room. There were two large tables where we could gather and play games. A large hot tub was on the back patio right out the door so very easy to get to and the view was beautiful! There was an amazing fire pit all ready to go and the host had corn hole, a hammock and a large swing the kids enjoyed. The best part was the view from the back deck!! It looked over a beautiful valley surrounded by pine trees. I loved the view every morning and evening and was sad to leave. The deck had a grill which we used twice and a table with very comfy patio furniture to sit and enjoy the view and visit with each other. The cabin is tucked away where you have lots of peace and quiet and privacy. Yet it was close enough to all the fun things we wanted to do at Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park and the surrounding sights. On our last night there the kids wanted to forgo some activities and just hang out at the cabin because it was so nice and comfortable. We grilled, enjoyed the view, played games and enjoyed the hot tub. Wanted to use the fire pit but it was raining. My family enjoyed this place so much we’re talking about coming back every summer. David was nicest host and made our stay so pleasant.
Awesome, beautiful property inside and outside. We especially enjoyed the large wrap-around deck. Great views! Super place to hangout with our kids, grandkids, and dogs. The property feels secluded and private, which we loved. So quiet and peaceful. The house is very well-stocked, and the hosts are great!
