While it was nice, it was busy and noisy. Our later nights were at Tariq Boutique, a totally different, relaxing experience. Tariq's area (San Blas) had narrow streets, quaint shops, and good restaurants. Very clean. Most of all, the view of the city was spectacular. Even though our room wasn’t ready and check in wasn’t for many hours, the staff welcomed us and offered a place to rest and have breakfast. Additionally they allowed us to store our luggage until our room was ready. Fantastic breakfast with freshly cooked eggs. Fresh linens and stylish decor. The shower was not closed at the front, meaning that the bath was all wet after each shower. Worse was that on the last two days there was no running water. This meant that we could not shower or use the toilet after sweaty hikes and before our flight, but this was probably an issue for multiple building in this area. We wanted to have dinner in the hotel's restaurant but it was mostly closed, even though indicated otherwise. In addition, the ceilings in the rooms need to be repaired and the bathroom also needs to be remodeled. There is no television in the rooms and the breakfast is not very varied. People are very attentive to help in whatever way they can. On several occasions we ran out of hot water in my room. There was an old table that broke when we put the suitcase on it. I informed them and they wanted to charge me for it as new so I could leave and I paid them half. It is situated on the hills of Cusco with the narrow lanes made of cobblestones. It was a quaint area, walking distance to Plaza de Armas, Cathedral, Qorikancha with lots of shopping on the way. We found the more authentic shops closer to the hotel than the main square. The hotel is very clean with an excellent view from our room. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient. They handled all our transportation back and forth from the airport as well as the railway station and anywhere else we wanted to go.
