"The only good thing about this trip was the young lady who worked at the front desk. The room was old and dated and had a smell, we were supposed to have a dining room table and it was a folding table. Half of the outlets didn’t work, the bathroom was kept up well but everything was either peeling or covered in plaster. The front desk area is the only thing that looks maintained. The pool was closed. I’ve stayed at the Wingate in Short Pump and it’s very nice and the folks are hospitable, the gentleman who works Saturday nights was very rude and could not even help us with the Wi-Fi that didn’t work also. Just a truly awful experience that has turned me off from Wingate altogether."
"I stayed at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott from 5/20/26-5/22/26. I was attending a Women’s Conference at the Hilton one block away. I was checked in with a smile by Felecia who gave me info on different restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The room was clean, and comfortable with an amazing view of the river. My only complaint was that the WiFi server was not functioning properly to watch any TV and the stopper in the bathroom sink wasn’t functioning well at all but I made do. The staff responded quickly when I requested additional cups be brought up to my room to drink water and when I asked about access to a-computer and printer to print out my boarding pass to catch my flight back to Maryland. I want to also recognize Airianna, the front desk supervisor, and Jacqualine who checked me out when I was ready to leave on5/22/26. All of the staff and employees that I interacted with were happy, helpful and friendly from the maintenance staff, housekeeping and the team out in front of the hotel that helped with parking, unloading suitcases and welcoming guests to the hotel . I will be coming back to this hotel when I visit Norfolk again."
"The rooms and bathrooms were dirty, there was a constant horrible scent coming from the bathrooms even when they werent in used.
The information about the amenities was not appropriately given. (we had no assess to the pool and there was no information given that the pool was closed )
The customer services was terrible, the wifi kept going down.
It was an overall horrible experience being at this property and I will never ever stay there again even if I am paid to do so."
