About this property

Shinrin Lodge | River, forest, clay tub, breakfast, transportation. All-inclusive

  • There are places where you just sleep
And others that change the rhythm of your breath

Welcome to Yamagoya, retreats designed for those seeking to disconnect from the noise and reconnect with nature

Here, mornings begin with the sound of the trees, fresh air, and a view that invites you to slow down

Conceived with a philosophy of simple, functional design inspired by Japanese architecture: fine materials, large windows, and a constant connection to the surroundings.

Yamagoya is not just a place to stay; it is a retreat designed to help you slow down and reconnect with nature, where the forest comes through the window before you even wake up.

Inspired by the Japanese ryokan philosophy, each space has been designed to convey calm, privacy, and comfort, blending seamlessly with the surrounding native forest. The architecture emphasises natural light, views of the surroundings, and a warm atmosphere where every detail invites you to relax.

You don’t just come here to sleep—you come to experience southern Chile from a place designed to help you disconnect from the noise of everyday life.

The hardest luxury to find is silence.

Yamagoya is not just a designer cabin. It is the convergence of two traditions: the Japanese philosophy of intentional space and the soul of the lake forest of La Araucanía.

侘 — Wabi-Sabi — The beauty of imperfection. Wood that ages with dignity.
間 — Ma — Empty space. Nearly 4 metres of interior height to breathe differently.
も — Monozukuri — The art of doing things well. No shortcuts. Local craftsmanship.

    The retreat:

A 25 m² retreat with a ceiling height of ~4 metres
    Photovoltaic system
    Double-pane windows
Yakisugi (charred wood) exterior and interior handcrafted
Handcrafted king-size bed made of native wood
    Premium standard bathroom
    Built-in, fully equipped kitchen
Dinnerware, glasses, utensils, and a full set of pots and pans
Premium bedding + blackout curtains-out curtains
    Mini-fridge + gas hob + spice racks
    Heating
    Parking for 4 vehicles

    Huililco River — private access
Over 3 hectares of common areas.

Dense native forest: coihues, raulíes, and arrayanes.
    Controlled access gate
    Parking for 4 vehicles.

Your reservation includes breakfast for the duration of your stay + one night in hot tubs in front of the Lemukufun waterfall

Includes a(return) from Pucón to the lodge in Curarrehue at no cost, available only to guests booking during high season and on weekends.

If you require transport on other dates, the service is available for an additional fee.

During your stay, you’ll have private and exclusive access to the entire lodge and its 5,000 m² grounds. It also features private access to the Huililco River, with its moderate depth, crystal-clear waters, and a 3-hectare setting to enjoy without public interference.

The accommodation is located within a private compound, surrounded by nature, offering a safe and peaceful environment for relaxation.

The location provides easy access to scenic routes, hiking trails, hot springs, and other local attractions, while maintaining the privacy that Yamagoya is known for.

We want your experience to be as comfortable as it is memorable. Before your arrival, you’ll receive all the necessary information to ensure a smooth and hassle-free trip.

    Some important points to consider:

The lodge is located in a rural setting, surrounded by native forest and nature.

Access is suitable for private vehicles year-round; in winter, we recommend driving with caution due to the area’s typical weather conditions.

At Yamagoya, we prioritise rest and tranquility, making the atmosphere ideal for those seeking to disconnect from the pace of city life and return to the luxury of silence.

We’ve created an exclusive website for our guests where you can find all the tourist attractions in Curarrehue and the surrounding area, including hot springs, hiking trails, local cuisine, experiences, and more.

Once you’ve booked your stay, we’ll send you the access link.
