The location was beautiful and peaceful. The lovely drive through the countryside as we traveled between our cabin and Mammoth Cave was an unexpected joy. We enjoyed all the wildlife including birds, rabbits and deer and the lake view was an added bonus. The cabin was beautiful, and had a private dock to the lake. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were great. The waterfall and cave were spectacular. Everything was clean and well thought out. If you come and the ferry is down, don't be upset. The drive to mammoth is a little longer, but it's on country roads that are both very pretty and fun to drive. Clean and comfortably appointed. We did have some maintenance needing to be done to the cabin reserved but the hosts communicated with us quickly and efficiently and extended kayak rentals to us for any inconvenience! The grounds are beautiful with hiking, cave to explore, fishing, kayaking and local wildlife. Kids loved the playground and searching for crawfish in the creek. We spent most of the time at the property as outside of our mammoth cave tours the area is void of shopping, dining or entertainment options. We had some maintenance needed in our cabin and needed to move to another location on the property to accommodate. The hosts communicated quickly and efficiently about the issue and extended kayak rentals as a thank you. The property was the highlight, with kayaks/floats/life vests, playground, hiking trails and cave to explore. The town and area around the rental is void of dining, shopping, entertainment beyond mammoth cave so the hosts message to come prepared was helpful!
