About this property
Peaceful Waterfront Home, Daily Sunset, Dock, 3 Min to Boat ramp & Gulf Access
Our house has large picture windows overlooking the pristine waters and marshes all the way to the gulf. There are terraces to sit out and enjoy the sun and the sunset which happens right out front. There’s a private dock that takes you to the waters edge, where you can canoe or fish from and to our own island with a picnic table. There are a couple of public boat ramps, the closest being 1/2 mile away, and there is plenty of space to park a boat trailer on our property. The water depth at our dock varies w the season, but there's an extension that provides plenty of depth and a place to tie off (dock length is 16'). During the summer we have at least 1' of water at low tide and the bottom is mud. You can easily get to our home from the boat ramp and to the gulf.
The house has 3 nice sized rooms with 4-poster beds and ceiling fans and a 4th bedroom with a futon double-bed (and a desk if you need to work). The Library, is a common room between the rooms where you can sit and read or enjoy the view and some solitude. While in the living room and dining room you can enjoy TV or talking with your friends while preparing a meal in the open kitchen. There is a Florida room that runs parallel to the living / dining room. With 3,650 square feet of space, this house is spacious enough for large groups, family reunions and entertaining with friends.
If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen is well prepared for you.
There is lots of land and privacy for you to stroll around the property.
If you are looking to unwind and enjoy nature, this place will afford you the peace and quiet.
Homosassa has many water activities on offer, such as, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, air boating, scalloping, swimming with the manatees and going for a swim in the gulf’s warm waters. There are also many homestyle restaurants with an emphasis on fresh seafood. There are also a number of attractions to keep you, your family and friends busy.
We look forward to welcoming you.

What a wonderful property, full of charm and plenty of space for our group to enjoy ! We all loved the natural surroundings, the screened area downstairs and the nature trails ! The huge tables both inside and out were awesome ! Will definitely be back !
Property is spectacular. Bachelor group had a great time fishing. Excellent host communication. Will absolutely be coming back and renting this property again
Beautiful location! Large home with plenty of lounging areas. Some beautiful, unique furnishings. Great communication with the owner. Definitely recommend for a group that wants a serene, “old Florida” experience.
Great location for a vacation with clean, spacious house that’s well stocked and could use a little maintenance (very quick response when ac didn’t work). We hope to come back soon.
This was our fourth time staying and we still love how the stress melts away when we are here. We enjoyed the kayaks and brought our own paddleboard this time. We love the layout of the home. Tons of space! The beds are comfy, the views are the best and the wildlife is magical.
This hidden gem is right on the river -it looks like the Outer Banks. Very quiet and beautiful. A short drive to old town Homosassa. Huge house. Great for family time. Rent a boat on the river and go putt around.
2md time staying here. Fishing is always good the house comes well stocked and is old Florida in a nutshell. Very quiet which is exactly what we look for.
Very private location that is also less than 15 minutes to a grocery store and 5 minutes to a few restaurants. The property has seen some wear over time but is filled with unique furnishings and comfortable beds. We loved being there. I hope we can go back!
Such a beautiful setting to enjoy nature! The house has tons of room to spread out. We used the kayaks right off the dock to paddle our way to Crumps Landing for lunch. Good restaurants and shopping in the area. The sunsets dazzle!
House is very large and would accommodate a lot of people. We loved how quiet it was. We did not have a boat but next time we will bring one to dock right at house. The dock walk way is in need of some repair.
Our group of friends (three couples and one single -- all over 65 and half of whom are birders) was over the moon about the location of the house. It overlooks an estuary and marshes, with lots of birds to see, especally off the dock. The sunsets over the water were a delight. Beautiful older Asian furniture adds a wonderful dimension to the visit and there are many lovely spaces -- inside and out -- in which to gather as a group or as individuals in all weather. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
This place is huge, old style decor throughout and all the wood working around the place was cool to see. Great fishing from the island lots of reds, stingrays and sail cats. Crabs are plentyful from this spot too. All in all we decided as a group this was our best rental location yet and priced perfectly. We will be looking ahead to book for our next monthly getaway. Outdoor decks and down stairs lounging areas are great for hanging out.
Incredible private property to spend the weekend. We were able to get our sea ray from the public ramp at Homosassa to the house by way of the Perry creek, and some local knowledge. Draft at dock was a few feet deep. Wonderful property. Peaceful stay. We were able to explore a new area by boat and had a great experience at this beautiful and unique house.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is very large with many different areas for privacy as well as the big common room to come together. Everything was very clean and the beds were big and comfortable. The grounds are as lovely as the house, with numerous birds, fish and even a sea otter! We particularly enjoyed getting out on the water in the kayaks we rented from David, the very helpful property manager. We are already planning our return!
We spent 1 week enjoying Old Homosassa with our 5 kiddos. My favorite part about our entire vacation was relaxing in the sunroom or dock watching the birds. My kids loved the tire swing, games, and puzzles. We spent one whole day using the two kayaks. The home was secluded, the decor was unique, and the book selfs were interesting to browse. The master bedroom’s view was amazing!
This property is so large that it can easily accommodate a large group. Large dining areas, multiple mixed used rooms. Indoors was clean and well stocked. Outdoors was rustic, weathered, but had a large lot for activities. The two accesses to water were a plus too. But bring your bug spray. Personally would have liked brighter lights inside at night and am not a fan of Roku. That said, our stay was relaxing and pleasant- just what we needed!
If you would like to experience an Old Florida that most don't even know exists, this is the place for you. The views from around the house are stellar. The home comfortably accommodates a group of eight with plenty of spaces to spread out. The exterior decking is not pristine, but the interior is well kept. If you bring a boat be sure to watch the tides as there are shallow spots to the gulf and river that are not marked. The kitchen was for the most part well stocked, but missing salt/pepper and coffee filters.
Wonderful location the house has plenty of space unfortunately it wasn’t super clean. One toilet had feces in it. Trash cans were full. Back door did not lock, and the decks and stairs are in poor condition and definitely need to be taken care of right away. If you love fishing, or just peace and quiet, it’s your place the stars at night are amazing with a little TLC. This could be a wonderful place for years to come.
We were in Florida to attend our son's graduation in Gainesville. Entire family stayed at this property. This is a great house in a peaceful, secluded location. Only two minor complaints were that the airboats sometimes came unnecessarily close to the dock (not the property owners fault), and that there are maintenance issues that need to be addressed, such as non-working refrigerators and rotten deck boards and railings, but not to the point of neglect, just a never-ending process for the property manager I'm sure, with storms, etc. Nothing bad enough to make me not want to stay there again. In fact, I wish we could have stayed a few more days. Brand new gas grill on the deck was nice, and lots of living areas to spread out in. I've already recommended this property to my family members and would not hesitate to book it again!
