We had a great stay! Sophie was very responsive with messages and had a cake waiting on check-in. The hosts were also helpful with tips on what to do, where to eat - which we very much appreciated. The cottage is in great condition and has all the necessary amenities. It’s a great location to explore the national trust properties close by and close to the beautiful Bedgebury forests. Highly recommended! One thing to mention is that, it isn’t obvious from the listing that the cottage is just off the main house where the hosts live. The cottage has a separate entrance, but the garden is part of the main garden without a fence which is not ideal if you want to let your dog out without a lead as there are hens / chickens free in the garden. The host, Sophie, and her family made us very welcome and baked us a cake on arrival (which was delicious). The barn was very comfortable with everything we needed, and the gardens very beautiful. Our hostess Sophie and her menagerie welcomed us into their home with a delicious home made cake! The cottage was well appointed, clean, tidy, and very well equipped with everything we needed and more. Our children especially enjoyed playing with the numerous pets - especially Toffee the dog and Minou the laid back cat! Benenden ist ein hervorragender Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungen in Kent und den umliegenden Grafschaften. In nur wenigen km Entfernung liegen einige der schönsten Gärten und Castles Südenglands (z. B. Sissinghurts und Hever Castle). Die Famile Verschuur ist ausgesprochen nett und zur Begrüßung gab es bei der Anreise einen leckeren, selbst gebackenen Kuchen. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen!
