it is a beautiful boutique hotel, very nice building, everything was very clean, really clean, comfortable, the view of the sea is amazing, the staff were great. we strongly advice to stay in this hotel
A quirky period property, beautifully decorated.
Stunning views & great customer service. Made to feel very welcome. Great breakfast options. Thank you
Fantastic! Such a brief stay but I was hosted by the most wonderful lady who made me feel right at home and even offered me a lift to the town due to the rain. Superb
We struggled to park outside the hotel which made a difficult start as we carried our bags up a very steep set of steps - there are a lot of steps inside and out! Once inside though, it was a quirky, comfortable place. Friendly staff, amazing breakfast and the most fantastic view of the sea from our balcony, with a pleasant walk into Cowes meant we had a lovely stay.
The hotel is furnished in Victoriana and run with great care and friendliness by Margaret who creates a country house atmosphere in the public rooms. The honesty bar is a lovely touch and the guests chat away to eachother creating a home from home atmosphere.
It was just what we needed. We have stayed there before and chose to stay again. Margaret anc all her staff did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our sojourn and look forward to returning next year.
A great 2 night stay at Villa Rothsay in a sea view room with spectacular Solent views. Room was very clean with comfy bed and good over bath shower. Quiet for a good nights sleep.
Great cooked breakfast made and served to order in the dining room with sea view. Hotel is unique with lots of memorabilia and a lounge which feels like stepping back in time . Nice garden terrace to sit out on.
Free parking at front of hotel for approximately four cars. Additional free parking to rear in Cliff Road with access to hotel up steps through garden. Believe they also have access to additional parking in Baring Road.
Easy access to Cowes along the Esplanade with its variety of pubs and restaurants around a ten minute walk.
The owner is very knowledgeable and runs a tight ship. Good Covid protocol was being practiced. We were well looked after and would love to return in the future.
Thank you Villa Rothsay.

A really nice environment , helpful and friendly staff
The hotel is spotlessly clean, Margaret was a fabulous host and the property is ideally situated to explore the local area and a base to see the rest of the island. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area :-)
The property is beautiful, lovely period building in a great location. Room was comfortable, nice big bed and great bathroom and shower. Staff are excellent, helpful and friendly and breakfast is lovely and done to your exact requirements. The room had a great view. The building could do with a bit of TLC in places and parking is limited but can not fault otherwise. I would definitely stay there again. Thanks for a great stay.
Great stay at Villa Rothsay for our family of 4. Ideal location for a short walk to Cowes and 2 mins down to the beach. Margaret and her team all gave us great service from start to finish. Great breakfast to set you up for the day. Thanks Margaret. Hope to see you next time.
Fantastic hotel with stunning views across the Solent. The owner is extremely welcoming and the building is a historical landmark, with a wealth of seafaring memorabilia inside. Not to be missed!
We were disappointed that there was no food available in the evening, the number of steps we had to climb from our room down to the dining room (36).
The breakfast was excellent, the staff were very friendly and our bedroom was good with excellent views
We loved the building and the original features. It was really quirky.
Our room was large with a beautiful view over The Solent and very well fitted out. Elemis toiletries a nice touch.
The staff were wonderful and very helpful. Breakfast was fabulous. Consistently high quality with lots of choice.
Lovely hotel, comfortable bed and a nice cosy room, shower very good and powerful. Breakfast was amazing, beautifully cooked and lots to choose from.
Margaret the owner was very nice and friendly and even dropped us down to the Cowes chain ferry with our luggage which was very kind. Would definitely stay again a wonderful quirky hotel and very friendly helpful staff, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Great room with wonderful views a very comfy bed and excellent facilities. The service was second to none. Nothing was too much for the staff who went above and beyond. The breakfast was marvellous. Couldn’t fault the hotel but room numbers on the doors would be helpful 😊
What a lovely and charming hotel! Lots of lovely touches for the guests and beautiful views. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was scrumptious! The family room was very spacious and the children had a separate room off the main bedroom. They loved the hooded bathrobes that were provided! A wonderful experience.
We started our 3 week vacation quite jet lagged at the Villa Rothsay - and couldn't have asked for a better beginning! The customer service went FAR beyond what was expected, the breakfast was wonderful, the view was stunning. It was a little hard to find, but well worth the hunt! We hope to stay there again some day.
