Cottonwood Cove Holidays from £739

The view was gorgeous at night with all the lights. We loved it! ~ Always Grateful. ~

We stayed for two nights in a Strip view room that happened to be in the older part of the hotel (Ruby and Opal appear to be the newer blocks). The room was spacious, but dated - particularly the bathroom, which, although clean, was fairly old. There are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room at all; filter coffee is $2 downstairs in the takeaway pizza shop (Pizza Forte). Do not bother with the $24pp (plus service and tax) buffet from the Kitchen. Save your pennies by either walking to Denny's nearby or grabbing something simple from Pizza Forte (breakfast burrito for $11 was perfectly nice). We have previously stayed in the Virgin Hotel in New York, and that was significantly better than this one in Vegas, but have noted that Vegas has been taken over by Hilton (a Curio Collection hotel) and is therefore probably run as a cheaper option. The pool is not big enough for the size of the hotel and only opens between 9am and 5pm, which doesn't feel acceptable in the summer months when Vegas is extremely hot. The check-in offered no information whatsoever and staff were very keen to just move you on; check-out was again disorganised with a lack of information and no one taking responsibility. It is not a hotel for 'good service'. Overall, we paid a reasonable price for Vegas and the free parking in the multi-storey car park is very useful, but this is not the high-quality establishment that other Virgin Hotels around the world offer. Don't be fooled by the brand.
