ABOUT THE SPACE
This space was designed to showcase the beautiful forest around it. The panoramic views of the treetops through the huge picture windows make you feel like you have escaped civilization even though you are only a few miles away from town. The fully stocked kitchen has everything you need to prepare your favorite meals and if you are a coffee/tea drinker, we’ve got you covered. Around the fire pit out back is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the sounds of nature. Or maybe you’d prefer getting cozy in front of the fireplace for a movie. When you’re ready to hit the hay you have your options and they all include memory foam mattresses.The main floor bedroom features a queen bed, the king bed is on the second floor, or you can climb the ladder to the third floor loft where there are two twin XL beds along with a breathtaking 30 ft high view. Whether you are in town for a game, business trip, or just to get away, you will feel at home at the Black Warrior Retreat.

This is a great place for anyone looking for a quiet and simple getaway. The cabin itself is very nice and was meticulously clean when we arrived. The location is great as you get the benefit of seclusion without being too remote. It close to town which was convenient for shopping and dining. The hosts were beyond accommodating and were readily available for questions. I would consider staying here again and will recommend to others!

Great stay

The cabin is and clean and has a cool contemporary farmhouse feel. The location is surrounded by beautiful trees and offers lots of privacy. We enjoyed our stay!

Awesome House

The hiuse was amazing and the location was giving. The description was wrong when it came to bedrooms and bathrooms but we made it work. Very cozy and exciting if you dont live in tbis type of environment. I Would rent again!

Beautiful Place

Great house and beautiful setting. Worked great forOur purposes and was very clean. Constructive feedback: We were traveling with grandparents and the shower presented an issue. A few extra hooks for hanging clothes and towels would be a nice addition. Thanks for having us!

Modern Cabin in the Woods

This cabin was fabulous! Perfect location and perfect setting. It had everything we needed and more. The location is awesome - a very earthy, woodsy vibe, but modern cabin. Beds were so comfy!!! Thanks!

Nice new Cabin

We had a great stay at the Black Warrior Cabin. Location is quiet and safe. Well appointed kitchen and several towels.The cabin could use some window treatments as the sun was blinding at times, and the hot water/shower/tub combo could use a little upgrade.Overall, we enjoyed our time to visit our daughter in college.

Respite during our final drive home to Lexington, KY

We found the perfect spot to spend the night and break our 12 hour drive up into a 2 day trip. We had dogs, 2 cars, and we were towing a trailer so needed a dog friendly location with safe place to park. The cabin is super dog friendly and the hosts were very helpful and accommodating!

Christmas at Cabin in the Woods

We had a lovely stay at Cabin in the woods. It is a beautiful retreat nestled in the woods yet convenient to get to. Host was very attentive and friendly. Even though we could not get fireplace started we still enjoyed outside pit. The surrounding wooded land was breathtaking. We would rent again in future.

From PA to AL

Josh is super nice. Accommodated us with any request we had. Response time was immediate when we had questions. Even dropped a pin so we could find the house easily. Highly recommend this location and noted to be away from traffic and the busy town which we loved.

Tranquil property! Stunning views!

We had an amazing time at the Black Warrior Retreat! The property is gorgeous! It was quiet and peaceful. The cabin is beautifully decorated in a modern, minimalist style. It is stunning! We slept comfortably in the beds and enjoyed the soaking tub! We made home cooked meals in the kitchen that was stocked with beautiful cookware and dinnerware! A quick 15 minute drive to campus was no problem at all! Can’t wait to go back to this property!

Beautiful but some practical issues

The property is beautiful, modern, and in a nice location. It feels like you are living in luxury, in the middle of the forest, with the conveniences of Tuscaloosa a few minutes away. The backyard fire pit is a really nice place to spend an evening. The Keurig coffee selection and basket of snacks provided by the host were excellent. The shower situation however, stopped this stay from being perfect. The shower needs a new solution. With the water flowing, the curtain gets sucked in and then sticks to your body. Together with the shower head that does not stay in position, it makes it much more difficult than it needs to be to shower. The following issues did not distract from the experience, but I'm adding them here as a note to the owners: Some of the wall fixtures, like the toilet roll holders, were pulling out of the wall, with the most concerning one being the handrail to the beds in the attic. But, in summary, the house is beautiful, in a nice location, and if the shower situation can be fixed, it might get close to perfect.

Bama Boy’s Basketball Game

We had a wonderful long weekend for just the Taylor boy’s. It had been a while since we had all been together & never just the family boy’s. The cabin was a huge hit! All boy’s, being in a cabin & in the woods what boy would not enjoy that? Although not in the deep woods the location gave the feeling of being well out into the country. The cabin was new, clean, & had all of our needs more than covered. Josh was wonderful & replied promptly to answer the few questions that we did have. Thank you!
