1. Hotel Baile Bughea

Hotel Baile Bughea
3.0 star property
Bughea de Sus
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (3 reviews)

"The location is great, surrounded by Bucegi mountains, great view of the peaks covered in snow and green forests from the panoramic view room's bed and terrace. The newly expanded indoor pool and outdoor terrace are a smart addition, with a good spa. The tennis courts and kids playing areas are well maintained. All staff was extremely nice and professional, good food, abundant breakfast. Fresh trout from their own yard basins. Will definitely try returning at Belmont."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Cotenesti?
The best area to stay in Cotenesti is the central part of the village, particularly around the main road, DJ731.

This area offers a blend of accessibility and a feel for village life. You'll find most of the local amenities here, including general stores and places to eat, all within easy reach. The landscape is dominated by rolling hills and traditional houses, with views of the surrounding Carpathian foothills.

For families, staying in the central part of Cotenesti provides a good base for exploring the local countryside. You're close to walking paths that lead to scenic viewpoints and can easily access the nearby forest trails. It's a relaxed setting where children can enjoy being outdoors.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will also appreciate this area. The quiet surroundings are great for unwinding, and there are opportunities for gentle strolls through the orchards and meadows.
When is the best time to go to Cotenesti?
The best time to visit Cotenesti is during the late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to early October) when the weather is most pleasant.

During these periods, you'll experience mild temperatures, ideal for exploring the surrounding natural beauty and engaging in outdoor activities without the intensity of summer heat or the chill of winter. The countryside is at its most picturesque, with spring blossoms or the vibrant colours of autumn foliage. This is great for couples or solo travellers looking for scenic walks and comfortable exploration.

The summer months (July and August) are also popular, offering warm, sunny weather, which is great for enjoying the outdoors, particularly if you're interested in activities around the Arges River. However, it can be hotter, and you might find more local tourists during school holidays. Families often find the summer an ideal time for a relaxed break, enjoying the longer days and warmer temperatures.

Winter (November to March) brings colder temperatures and the possibility of snow, transforming the landscape into a winter wonderland. While some might find this appealing for a quiet, cosy retreat, it's not the best time for extensive outdoor exploration.
