Salty Atlantic breezes combined with the relaxing sounds of the waves crashing on the shores of Corolla's sandy beaches and beautiful weather make memory making an incredible experience for your family. The intense red sunsets over the beautiful Sound waters of the Whale Head Bay are just minutes away. The skies in Corolla are as spectacular as they come; dark and starry. The wrap around decks make the perfect spot to get lost in the skies of Corolla. The beach remains the main attraction and is just a short walk to paradise. Sandy and Clean, Whalehead Beaches remain some of the most beautiful on the Outer Banks.

The casual dining at Agave Roja or perhaps you prefer a more formal dining experience at North Banks are only a convenient five minute drive. This home is situated in the center of all of the places that make Corolla one of the top vacation destinations across the country year after year.

The Rookery is spacious enough for everyone to find their own space yet remain under one roof. With enough space for two large families, the bedrooms are all equipped with flat screen TV's and comfortable mattresses. Nothing beats outdoor entertaining at the beach - with a sun deck and hot tub, there is plenty of entertainment to be had. Since grilling is one of the best parts of vacation, this home comes with two park grills and a gas grill for the outdoor chef in your group.

Perfect family vacation home, poor service

Gorgeous, roomy home with everything needed for a fun and comfortable family vacation. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a large separate ice maker. Each of 3 levels have outside decks, with the 2 lower decks being covered. The top deck has a ready to use hot tub. The unheated pool is large with a nice deck furnished with plenty of chairs. Our only problem was that even though our contract clearly stated that all linens were supplied, when we arrived there were no towels and no sheets. We spent our first evening making numerous phone calls and texts to get towels and linens. At 10 pm we were told we would not get sheets for 2 of the king beds until the next morning. I asked that the manager call me the next day with no response. It was advertised that 2 beach parking passes were included. We never got them.

A very small maintenance issue came up that was addressed immediately and cleared in less than a day. Outstanding support from both the owners and the property manager. LOve the fact that the town and most rentals are pet friendly. We did not bring our dog but would consider renting again due to the ability to bring our pets. House was a bit dated and had some deferred maintenance issues, but the floorplan was very functional for our large group. Lots of decking (covered and uncovered) which was positive. But should consider resurfacing with composite due to lots of cracking and splinters.

However, I do wish the cleaning company would have vacuumed before we arrived. That was pretty gross. Also, the fan blade in the ceiling broke off, while it was on, and almost hit us in the head. Other than that, the house was very nice and accommodated 4 adults and 2 children very well.

New TVs and wiring have made using TVs a breeze. New furniture in several rooms. New faucet in kitchen, plus numerous new photos and knickknack throughout have brought the Rookery to almost a new home feeling. Home was very clean when we arrived. Everything worked perfectly. Only time we needed to talk to the rental agency was to reserve for next year.

Due to limited traffic, we arrived early and were allowed to enter the house and begin our fun filled vacation. The house was exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything needed to feel like home away from home. On the second day, the realty company added another nice touch by reaching out to us to ensure we had everything we needed. The pool was up and running with clear refreshing water and the hot tub was the relaxing part of every night. Each day was filled with walks on the beach, bike rides, taste of Corolla and late night hot tubs. Walks to the beach were only 7 minutes long on a nice paved road and amazing trex decking path. Loved this place and will be back for another round soon.

Had awkward phone call with them after my return. A little more follow up from management and this could all be taken care of

The beach was not far from the house at all. I thought it would be a further walk but it was not bad at all. The pool lights were not working. This was the only issue we had with the house. We were very disappointed in not being able to enjoy the pool in the evening as much as we would have liked to.

Reviewer Comments: There were numerous things that were on the owners website - like numerous beach chair and bikes - that when you actually get there - there is only 2 beach chairs and no bikes. So we had to buy beach chairs and rent bikes - if we knew this before we would have brought them. I would say that the owners need to change their website to reflect the actualy items there. We used to come to this house 15 years ago every year - but due to illnesses in the family we had stopped and wanted to revisit the house -it brought back many wonderful memories - but honestly not much has changed since we were there. The owners were always wonderful to us since we kept coming every year. Hope they can update their website so someone else won't have happen to us.

The most relaxing week

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home is situated on a clean and quiet street with multiple beach access sidewalks that walk you right up to the ocean. There is some construction nearby which you can hear in the morning when they get started on building new beach houses. For families who don't like stairs - this is not your house. For us it was perfect...however if you have elderly family members or small children getting to and from the pool (where the BBQ grill is) back up to the kitchen could be tough for anyone older/younger/or anyone who may have a disability. While the best trip we have had to the beach was had here. The layout of the home is a bit choppy and did not lend to spending time together in large groups there is not enough space to convene anywhere except for outside that will accommodate a large number of people, the carpet was stained in many places and the home appeared a bit dated. Fun details like a basketball hoop at the pool and out front were really fun for the kids and the best part of this home is simply it's location in Corolla.
