Gwinn's is great fun and the chowder in the roadhouse is amazing! If you are looking for luxury, Gwinn's isn't the place for you, but if you're looking for functional, clean accommodation with rustic charm, you'll love it.

Quiet & beautiful location. Individual log cabin with modern electric, walk-in shower, & kitchenette. Convenient on site cafe, a bait shop & a gift store. All the food was great, but the Chicken fried steak & the biscuits w/sausage gravy were fantastic. Will here stay again!

Plenty of space in the unit we stayed in. The place is older but very clean and comfortable. Extra towels available for our group. Plenty of places for fishing nearby and their freezer space was convenient. Will be back in the future.

Gwin’s is awesome

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Gwin’s Lodge & Roadhouse in Cooper Landing, Alaska! From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality and rustic charm of this historic lodge made us feel right at home. Nestled at the base of the stunning Kenai Mountains and just steps from the turquoise waters of the Kenai River, the location is unbeatable for anyone looking to immerse themselves in Alaska’s natural beauty. Our cabin was cozy, clean, and well-equipped with a kitchenette, comfortable beds, and a charming patio offering gorgeous views of the surrounding forest and mountains. The attention to detail in the accommodations made our stay both relaxing and memorable. The on-site restaurant was a highlight—those famous ½ lb. cheeseburgers and smoked salmon chowder lived up to the hype, and the carrot cake was the perfect sweet finish! The staff was incredibly friendly, offering great recommendations for local activities like fishing the nearby Russian River. Whether you’re an angler chasing world-class salmon or just seeking a peaceful retreat in the heart of the Chugach National Forest, Gwin’s Lodge is the perfect basecamp. The free WiFi and convenient amenities like the tackle shop and ATM were a bonus, making our stay hassle-free. We can’t wait to return to this gem on the Kenai Peninsula for another unforgettable Alaskan adventure! Highly recommend. Nick

Really rough accommodations, the front door didn’t even close all of the way. We were woken up at 1:00 am by a fight in the bar next door, with one of the people yelling that he was going to go grab his gun. Would not recommend staying here unless the price is very low.
