Cortijo-style, courtyard, beach (200m) Situated less than 200m from one of the finest stretches of sand on the Costa de la Luz, Casa Almadraba offers a combination of beach, comfort, and mature gardens that is very difficult to find on the Cádiz coast. Within the exclusive residential area of Roche, the house is located in a quiet cul-de-sac that terminates with steps leading down to the perfect Atlantic beach that stretches some 7km in one direction, where it finishes at the abandoned tuna fishing port of Sancti Petri, and 500m in the other, where low sandstone cliffs rise to form a series of tiny sandy coves and rock pools known as the Calas de Conil. Built less than 20 years ago, the house is Andalus in style, with white-washed walls and terracotta roof tiles. It sits in a mature garden, shaded by umbrella pines and surrounded by palms, rubber plants, bougainvillea, and wisteria. It has a stunning 10m x 5m chlorine-free pool that is fully enclosed and is surrounded by a traditional brick terrace and bamboo pergola that filters dappled sunlight for the ideal siesta. The décor is simple yet comfortable, with whitewashed walls, lovely black and white prints of the surrounding area, and high-quality furnishings. It is a house that is both cool and fresh in the summer (all the bedrooms have traditional esparto blinds) and cosy in the winter months (there is central heating and an open fire). Previous guests have enjoyed, in particular, the enclosed pool area and the choice of sitting-out areas (entrance patio, dining terrace, pool, and garden). There is satellite TV, DVD, and a music system. Accomodation at Casa Almadraba is on two floors. The ground floor includes a pretty entrance patio full of scented plants, a large drawing-room with separate dining area, fully-fitted kitchen, large double bedroom with bathroom and direct access to pool, and a small bedroom with shower-room. As well as the entrance patio, the drawing-room also has access on to a covered terrace used for dining (built-in BBQ in the garden), and the dining area accesses onto the swimming pool. On the first floor we will find three bedrooms (one double and two twins) and three bathrooms (one ensuite). There is off-road parking for one car, although there is no problem leaving the car on the road. A walk of about 500m will take us to the local shop, pharmacy, a couple of bars and restaurants, and childrens’ playground. Roche also has its own tennis and padel courts and five-a-side football pitches. In the summer months, there are several beach bars/restaurants to choose from within walking distance, some of which are now staying open all year. A 5-minute drive will then provide you with a far larger selection of both bars and restaurants. The area offers an endless list of activities and if you book with us, we provide you with detailed information on all our recommendations, details on local amenities, and our up-to-date guide to the best of everything! Das Haus und besonders die Küche waren sehr gut ausgestattet und die 5 Zimmer plus 5 Bäder sorgten in unserer 10 köpfigen Familie für Entspannung. Leider war das Wetter Mitte Oktober sehr wechselhaft, so dass wir den idyllischen Pool kaum nutzen konnten. Der schattige Garten ist bei Hitze sicher sehr angenehm. The villa was even better than the the description & photos that were provided. Although we came in from the United States I have family that live in the South of Spain about 20 km from Roche. Everyone that came to visit could not stop talking about how wonderful the villa was, and proximity to the beach. We spent time going back and fourth between the beach and wonderful pool. We loved the outdoor space with the bbq, ping-pong table, outdoor eating and lounging space this has to be one of the best all time vacations we had. The inside of the villa was very, very clean, everything functioned as advertised including the Air Conditioning. Das Haus ist perfekt eingerichtet. In Wirklichkeit ist es sogar schöner als auf den Bildern. Es ist alles mehr als benötigt vorhanden. Andrew ist der perfekte Gastgeber, er war immer für uns erreichbar. Wir können das Haus nur empfehlen. ##### Thomas M. The house has a great sense of space and peace and feels more like a home than a rental. Andrew is the perfect host, always ready to help. We will be back next year. ##### Peter T. Even though we fully booked the house with 10 people, we never felt cramped, there was plenty of nicely decoured space and so many really nice bathrooms. The house was in very good condition and the kitchen (we cooked nearly everyday for 10 people) really perfect. The garden and pool area though were outstandingly georgeous. The beach was close, beautiful and never even slightly crowded. Our hosts were very attentive and looked out for us on our stay. The only tiny disadvantage is that the wifi is not covering all rooms evenly well. Die Lage des Hauses ist super: der weitläufige Strand ist sehr schnell zu erreichen, kleine Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in der Nähe, andere mit dem Auto leicht zu erreichen. Die Anlage rund um das Haus herum ist gepflegt und ansprechend angelegt. Die Möbelierung des Hauses ist geschmackvoll, jedoch in die Jahre gekommen. Die Betreuung durch Andrew war sehr gut. Alles in allem war es ein Urlaub in einer Gegend, die wir gern wieder aufsuchen würden! ##### Christel M. The house was great with the pool area which can be closed off, lots of amazing garden space with sunshine and shade to play in and sprinklers on timer which the little ones loved! Andrew provided us with good travel cots and highchairs for the tiny ones. There are a various different seating areas around the garden so we were able to all be together or spread out as we wished if we were in the house. We also enjoyed using the outdoor BBQ a few times. There is a vast unspoilt beach just at the end of the road, which really is amazing to have close by, as well as a kids playpark a little walk away but we didn't really use this. We visited the nearby coves which are beautiful and more sheltered for windy days - under 5-10 mins drive away. Roche hasn't got many amenities, a pharmacy, cafe and restaurant but 2 supermarkets nearby and Sancti Petri and Barossa very close with more lovely beaches. We visited lots of local towns and beaches (Vejer, Conil, El Palamar). We took the kids horse riding at a nearby riding school. We were there for 10 days and in hindsight it would have been good to arrange a mid-stay housekeeping. All in all it was a peaceful place, great for a group and we all really enjoyed our stay. ##### Louise D. Es ist geräumig und sehr freundlich eingerichtet. Der Pool und die überdachte Terasse sind fantastisch. Auch das Außengelände bietet genug Platz zum Spielen für Kinder. Und der wirklich wunderschöne Sandstrand ist nur einen Steinwurf entfernt! Die Betreuung durch den Vermieter ist hervorragend! Die Begrüßung ist sehr herzlich, er hat viele gute Tips und wenn irgendetwas ist, ist er immer da und sehr hilfsbereit. Abgesehen vom wunderschönen Strand hat die Gegend auch sonst sehr viel zu bieten. Die berühmten weißen Dörfer, Tagesausflüge nach Cadiz und Sevilla oder Whale Watching in Tarifa.
