We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful Stone House with so much history behind it! The countryside is absolutely breathtaking. Colesburg has a Tavern with great food and the locally owned gas station has a variety of homemade food and local locker meats and cheeses. We enjoyed the simple quite atmosphere and felt rejuvenated when we left. Will definitely be back!!!

Really cute & clean property! Historic building well maintained. Host communicated clearly with us sending parking, WiFi & security lock information prior to arrival. There was a problem getting the message from VRBO as reservation was booked through Expedia but host responded quickly & resent. We were 12.5 hours from home but this was a great home away from home!
This property is so beautiful and well appointed! We enjoyed our stay, had everything we needed and contact with Dekker was prompt and helpful! My family and I were happy to stay here and will do it again if our travels bring us back through Iowa.
Host is easy to communicate with and very responsive. The apartment is beautiful and full of rustic charm down to the hand hewed beams and 160 year old hardwood floor's. Well equipped with pots , pans and the like as well as spices if you choose to cook.
In a word: Amazing! If we ever make it back to Iowa, we’ll be staying here again! Awesomely renovated building that has cool history - of which the info was provided by the host along with suggestions on spots to eat and sightsee! Very stocked kitchen! They thought of everything! Dekker is the most responsive host I’ve ever worked with for a trip, and when I told him we’d be arriving in the later evening, he went over and turned some lights on for us! Again: Amazing! I recommend this place BIG TIME!
Some of our baseball team stayed here for the weekend that we played at the Field of Dreams. The property was clean and well-maintained. Having two bedrooms gave us room to spread out and allowed for some privacy. There was a pool table in the rec room which was nice. The amenities like WiFi, tv streaming, and the full stock of pots and pans made our trip easy and convenient. We will definitely look into staying here again should we play at the movie site again in the future.
This was a GORGEOUS property, beautifully rehabbed with modern rustic decor. It has beautifully exposed natural wood elements and beams, which gives it a comfortable, homey feel. The property was very clean, including bathrooms and bedding (which I'm picky about!). The kitchen is clean with updated appliances, dishes, and most basic needs when away from home. The owners were easy to communicate with via email and text, which made things easy if anything arose. The town of Colesburg is quaint and small, but a perfect stay when visiting the Field of Dreams and the city of Dubuque. We will definitely stay again when in the area.
Take a step back in time and relax at this beautiful place filled with history!
I don't even know where to begin! First of all Dekker is great and super easy to work with! He has done an amazing job keeping the original look of the 1860s limestone building and adding all the modern amenities to go along with it.
My favorite part of the space is the original hand hewn beams throughout all the rooms! Beds were comfortable and claw foot tub a plus! Everything you need for your stay is available in the home. Super cozy and attention to detail on the decorating is fantastic. If you want a place to stay to explore beautiful Northeast Iowa with great ambiance then this Colesburg residence is just for you! We didn't want to leave!
