(407 reviews) We stayed at The Olde Bell for one night and we were very kindly given an upgrade to a gorgeous luxury room overlooking the lovely garden. The room was very spacious and nicely decorated with a free standing bath in the room as well as a large walk in shower in the bathroom. The staff were all very friendly, dinner was good and breakfast was fantastic. This is also such a good value historical hotel in a gorgeous village. We will definitely be back - this is our second stay. (354 reviews) The hotel was nice and clean with a nice bar area. Our room was small but comfortable and clean. We ate at the restaurant on our first night and we were very disappointed. The meat pie was not home made, there was hardly any steak in it and the steak that was in it was not nice in both texture and flavour. Chips were not hand cut but frozen. My partners salmon and pasta dish was bland. We did give feedback to the waitress after we had eaten and they were disinterested. There are other negative things I could mention but you get the picture. We enjoyed our stay because the room was comfortable and Montgomery was a charming little village but the restaurant food and service was very poor so let down the overall experience.
