This was a great spot for our family to stay when visiting relatives. The home is very nice and well maintained. It was clean and as advertised. The owners communication and responsiveness was top-notch!
This is one of our favorite places to stay. The fishing is great, the sandy beach is one of the kids favorite. The house is always clean, and the property keep tidy. I highly recommend staying here if your looking for a family vacation on the lake!!!
Our family had a wonderful long weekend at the lake. Chance was a wonderful host and quickly responded to all of our questions leading up to our stay. We would love to come back again!
We loved our long weekend at Lutefisk Lodge. The cabin was clean and well stocked! Our kids loved the dock, lakefront and water toys! The big kids.. men.. loved the fishing. It was a great stay, we’ll be back!
We’ve rented many vacation properties over the years, but this one truly topped them all. The lodge is not only beautiful and comfortable, but it also had all the comforts of home—and then some! The kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked, making it easy to cook meals for our entire family every day. There were three TVs and a great selection of toys and games that kept the kids entertained. The pellet grill was a pleasant surprise and added to our enjoyment. The owner went above and beyond by stocking essentials like hand soap and toilet paper, which we really appreciated. This trip was extra special as it was a family vacation with our grandkids, who are avid fishers. They had a blast—there were plenty of fish to catch! The man-made sandy beach, cozy firepit, and fishing dock all contributed to a relaxing and memorable stay.It was truly hard to say goodbye to such a lovely place.
We had a family vacation here, all 3 of the nephews absolutely loved the fishing whether off the dock, or by boat. It slept 9 of us comfortably. Started getting a little snug towards the end of our stay. Overall, loved our stay and already planning a trip back for next year!
We had a wonderful long weekend at the lake. Had fun kayaking, paddle boarding, and lounging around in the sun. The sandy beach was nice. The host was very responsive. It was quiet and peaceful. Very relaxing place to recharge.
We loved the home. We used all the space indoor and outdoor everyday. The beach area was perfect for our littles and it was great to have access to a couple of kayaks and a paddle board. We did some fishing from the dock. The weather was great & we were near the local town for an option to visit the parks.
The cabin was clean and in great condition. It worked well for our family of six. We brought our boat and there is plenty of space to park. It was nice being able to pull up to the dock for breaks. Fishing off the dock was good. With my son hauling in a personal best 32”northern pike. We plan to stay again next summer.
Good fishing right off the dock, kayaks were fun. Algae bloom is a thing, but still had lots if fun! Place was clean and comfortable. Kids said they liked it best because there wasn't a ton of people around- not commercialized. Oh... be sure to stop by Headwaters bar and grill (very family friendly) for the best food in town!!! Our days were filled with fishing and sandcastles! Enjoy :)
Beautiful house and great location, just as described, perfect for three couples, with very comfortable beds! Chance was very responsive to all questions and everything from booking to arriving went smoothly!! Fishing was tough as we had a pretty good cold front come through on the day of our arrival but we did manage to catch a few fish straight out from the cabin in 10 to 13 feet of water. We did thoroughly enjoy our stay and would highly recommend it! I can only imagine how beautiful it would be in the summer!!
This is the second time we have stayed at this property and it was just as good as the first! Great communication with Chance led to a super easy check-in process. The house was clean and ready for us upon arrival. A binder on the counter explains very clearly all of the expectations of your stay when you arrive. Thank you for another great weekend away with friends!
The house was nice and matched the pictures. Chance was nice to work with and the check-in/out process was easy. Had some nice amenities as stated. The lake was a green, but we still went boating on it, so it wasn’t terrible. Obviously the lake conditions are out of owners control, just wanted to point it out. Overall a good stay.
Our family of 6 had an amazing time at this cabin! We caught panfish off the dock, invited extended family for a pot luck, enjoyed playing cards and the fire pit. We were there for the hottest Labor Day wknd of my memory but we made it work! Our oldest son proposed to his girlfriend at the end of the dock while fishing. She’s going to become a Fischer!
It took us about 6 hours to drive to this fabulous house. We arrived a little early and Chance was readily available to answer my call and let us check in.
The photos definitely do not lie. The house was not only gorgeous, but had decorations that gave it that 'home away from home' feel. The decorations not only matched the location, but also the season.
The peace and quiet was incredible compared to where we live. It was very easy to unwind and enjoy the scenery.
We are already planning our next stay.
We had the pleasure of staying for four nights at the Lutefisk Lodge and will definitely be back. The sun sets alone or something out of a movie set. It was almost to the point where it looked like it set into the lake. Tons of space and a smart layout so everyone can have their own corner if they need privacy. Great deck to sit on if you aren't by the dock fishing, which produces all sorts of species with a few simple patterns. Plenty of space to move trailers around and had all the accoutrement you'd ever need to fish hard and process fish. I wish we could have enjoyed more time at the lodge but we spent 8 to 10 hours of our day on the water exploring beautiful Big Stone Lake. So impressed...and so will you
Very clean new home with the space my family of 6 needed; me, husband, 4 kids 14-21. Kids each had their own bed, which is a big deal. Everyone got to fish off the dock. We saw an otter and pelicans, which was cool, and a cute little frog.
We used the pellet grill for dinners, except for the night we drove 15 miles to Big G's Pub in Beardsley. I brought a lot of food, but we still needed to go to town for some supplies. Small town, high prices.
I liked sitting on the patio, looking at the water. I also enjoyed the main floor space, two bathrooms, nice kitchen, counter space, appliances, and central air. The mattresses aren't great, but not horrible. The pillows were flat as pancakes.
I seem to read too many property descriptions before booking, then forget to read through what I booked carefully. This time I missed the "bring your own towels" detail. However, I did send a message when I booked asking if there would be an issue with fishing or getting in the water with paddle boards, and was not told about the green algae. The water was like thick like pea soup with algae. We did not get in the water or use the paddle boards we brought because of it, which was disappointing.
Regardless, I loved just watching the water, seeing the kids fish. We used the fire pit a couple nights which was good on the sandy area. Bring your own marshmallow fire sticks. I liked playing games at the table with the large windows giving us views of the lake.
Worth the drive and price.
