This French farm house is beautiful. I felt like I was staying in someone's home. One of the hosts, Peter, gave wonderful background about the surrounding area and was very flexible about making breakfast early as needed. The breakfast was delightful with homemade yogurt and jams, local cheeses and meats as well as the classic French bread varieties and croissants. My room was big and lovely and the property lovely to look out on. The surrounding village is peaceful. The perfect place to unwind. Also near Falaise and the attraction of William the Conqueror's birthplace as well as the museum of the civilians and the occupation. The town is picturesque with lovely restaurants and a very small town comfort and charm. A few lines of French are helpful along the way, still the locals are so kind there was no problem with communication. The Normandy invasion sites are also very accessible and easily driveable within a day from the farm. I stayed there 3 nights after staying Paris (for 5) and it is the perfect place to end a trip. If I return to France and that region (which I hope to do as it is delightful), I will definitely stay at La Vieille Ferme. :)

This was our third overnight stay here. Peter is a fantastic chef and we had a wonderful evening meal and breakfast. If you need somewhere to stay near Caen port, this makes an excellent overnight stop.

Rustic charm and great breakfast
This waz a really e joyable stay in a traditional French farm, now run as a small chambre d'ote by a British family. We lovex the quiet farming village location and the charm of the buildings. The host was very relaxed and helpful. We had the use of a communal guest lounge complete with tv and books and tea making facilities. Thefe was also a fridge for guests and a small mini bar of drinks at very reasonable orices. Room was spacious and warm and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with fresh bread and lots of homemade goodies. I wish we had been tbere longer to join in witb with the farmhouse cooking lessons the host organises. If you want a change from the busy city and modern concrete business hotel this is an ideal place.

a charming place!
This is a beautiful old house. The room was very sweet and nicely decorated, dinner and breakfast were yummy. And it's wonderful that we could eat the breakfast in the porch or outside with all the green surrounding us and the kids could run in the garden.

This was our second stay here and we will go again. The hosts and staff are lovely and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal was superb as before. A perfect stay close to Caen ferry port.

Comfortable, good value stay
We stayed here for 1 night in June 2019 while on our way to Bayeux from Limoges. We arrived at 9pm but were still greeted with a friendly smile from Su and they were happy to cook us a delicious omelette and salad each. The room was clean and well-appointed with a most comfortable bed. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Everything, including drink, was excellent value. There is a communal room with television. Slightly off the beaten track (20 mins from the motorway) but with good directions, this is a charming place to stay in the French countryside. Overall, definitely recommended.

Outstanding experience. We arrived very tired and asked about dinner options in the town. Our host (a gourmet chef, as we knew) presented us the "bar menu", which in America means junk food (nachos, french fries, etc.). We stayed in, ordering the homemade sausage special (served with couscous and an apple chutney), charcuterie, and a wonderful tomato Caprese salad. We also had the proper dinner the second night - the duck was a masterpiece. Great facility, very friendly hosts, very highly recommended.

Beautiful, peaceful hotel
We (family) stayed as a stop over up to Calais. The family room was very comfortable, there was room to move around. The kids enjoyed the games room, played on the board games. Also seeing the animals,very fluffy gerbil. We enjoyed the evening 3 course meal. Breakfast was excellent. The hosts were very friendly. Thank you for making our final holiday night so memorable.

Fun on the farm with the fam
Peter and Su maintain this B&B on the site of an old farm that still has goats, sheep, and chickens (fresh eggs in the morning!). The rooms are small but clean and Peter and Su are amazing hosts (we also signed up for their cooking experience - Peter is a chef and together we made an amazing French lunch). Lots to do in the surrounding area within driving distance - all in all we had a great time staying at La Veille Ferme!

Charming old Farm - Nice Breakfast
We had a lovely one-night stay at Le Vielle Ferme. We rented the family room, which was really nice. We truly enjoyed strolling around the farm and enjoyed meeting the goats, sheep, guinie pigs and rabbits. We even took a long walk down the country lane and enjoyed the beautiful landscape. Breakfast was very good. No complaints.

A friendly farmhouse
Two overnight stays, a few days apart, on our way to/from Le Mans Classic. We loved the evening meal, plus the lounge area with tea/coffee. There was also a selection of cold drinks at modest prices (eg Cote du Rhone wine at 6 euro). The water temperature in the shower (Calvados Room) was difficult to regulate and there was quite a bit of noise from other rooms/corridors with their wooden floorboards.

Texans staying in rural France.
T'was excellent, overall. The breakfast was plentiful. Only downside was the noise the old-fashioned locks and door knobs that made sharp metal noises when used. It's an old farm, that is, a rustic setting, so I guess the metal noises come with the setting.

Peter and Sue were fantastic! The place is 18th century in an extremely small village very close to Falaise. We were there to take in WWII sites and Peter informed us of one that is well off the beaten path but was one of the more instrumental in the success of the allies upon landing at Normandy. The place was a great place to relax especially after being in Paris. The food was great in the morning and we had dinner there one night. Peter is a trained chef and the food he prepared was great! We would enjoy getting to stay there again.

Staying at this B&B was one of the highlights of my trip to France. My friend and I stayed here three nights in the Calvados Suite. The room was very comfortable and the owners are amazing. We had dinner there one night and it was absolutely phenomenal. The continental breakfast every morning was super fresh and very tasty. Its also a great base to explore the Normandy region.

Delightful Accommodation
We stayed for one night in a family room, as a stopover en-route to Le Mans. Instructions to find the place were clear and precise, and we had no trouble at all finding the hotel. Greeted with a friendly welcome. Spent a couple of very pleasant hours drinking beer in the garden whilst we awaited the evening meal. Meal was superb, and excellent value, particularly as the price included wine. Good selection available for the continental breakfast. Would thoroughly recommend, and will definitely be returning at some point.

You must eat here
Su and Peter are wonderful welcoming couple with a delightful young family. We chose to eat in on the first night of our stay and the food was absolutely amazing, so good we decided to eat in both nights. The accommodation is located in a lovely quiet position with no problems sleeping. Su and Peter seem to have thought of everything from dual channel tv (for those that can't live without it even for a couple of days!) to numerous board games, magazines, tea and coffee, honesty mini bar, snacks, microwave, I can't think of anything you could possibly need that they haven't already thought of. We wish them well with the continuing restoration of the wonderful farm buildings. We will definitely visit again.

Spent 2 nights at this delightful, family-run farmhouse B&B. Spacious rooms, full of character and attractively furnished. Pete and Su were very friendly and helpful and our best decision was to have our evening meal there - French cuisine was fantastic! We certainly hope to go back soon.

Best stay ever
We stayed 2 nights and would have loved 2 weeks, this B&B is as cozy as it gets, other travelers were great company and even with the language barrier we communicated fine, the host/chef was super and the meals were 5 star. The location is a centuries old farm with chickens and other live stock running around, right up our alley, we felt very comfortable there and would recommend it to anyone.

A superb B & B which is run by a charming English couple who offer beautiful family rooms and an amazing continental breakfast at an extremely reasonable price. We used it as a stop off from returning to Brittanny to Calais and we will most certainly use again.

Overnight stay on a cycle tour. English owners, very welcoming & obliging. Evening meal was excellent. Well priced, lovely spot, great little find. Get in before they get full. Would definitely go back.
