Very convenient location. Spacious, secluded and quiet. The dishwasher does not work well, there were food particles on dishes and utensils. It’s peculiar that there is no way to cover windows. Felt very exposed.
We enjoyed our stay.

Great place for your vacation.
A beautiful home nestled into beautiful woods. This home was very well equipped with everything you might need to cook, visit, and enjoy a good night of sleep.
Had a great time. Only one complaint. You need to put curtain or blinds in the bedrooms. Thank you

Liked: Communication, location, listing accuracy
Some areas of the house were not cleaned. The exterior needs some cleaning (power washing). The size of the house was great. The mattress in the downstairs bedroom needs replacing. The Master bedroom needs a tv and the wi fi needs to be updated it was hard to watch anything on tv or use cellphones. Called about door lock issues and the matter was taken care of immediately.
The beds were great, the rooms comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. It was very clean on the inside, but the deck was not very clean. Also, the driveway was quite steep and hard to maneuver. They kept changing the entry code on us. When we got there it wasn't the code we were given to get in, and we had to call. Then one evening we got home after dark and tried to get in, but they changed the code again. But they were very quick in answering our calls.

Spacious
The best thing about the house was the spaciousness! Plenty of room for three couples to move around and sit in different places and eat together.
The property was very good. The kitchen contained nearly everything one would need for food prep. The house is located in an isolated , but beautiful area, which makes it very quiet. There are hiking opportunities and lakes within a 20-30 minute drive, as is the town of Helen.

WE HAD AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE WOKE UP TO BEAUTIFUL DEER JUST GRAZING THE YARD EVEN HAD THEM COME UP AND EAT OUT OUR HANDS.HOUSE WAS BEAUTIFUL, THE SCENARY WAS BREATH TAKING MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS WE HAD TO LEAVE THANKS VACASA FOR THE WONDERFUL TRIP WE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR.
Wonderful house with more than a couple of hiccups
This is our first house rental managed by Vacasa, although we have rented many, many houses through VRBO. Others have not had nice things to say about Vacasa, we didn't experience problems with the property managers. They were prompt with answering our emails about our problems, although not fixing things fully. The house itself is spectacular in the surroundings of woods, and has a terrific porch. The issue is... well, we shouldn't have had all these problems with a house this nice. I'm not sure if it's the managers or the owners who have neglected some things. For instance, like making certain lights work (many did not, 3 out of 4 switches are non functional in the upstairs bath) and fixing the hot water problem in the downstairs shower, which has been mentioned in reviews for months. When we arrived, we were met with a broken window in the basement, apparently someone had attempted to break in (one of the Vacasa employees claimed it was a previous traveler who had locked himself out.) That's a bit bizarre. Fix the lock so that shouldn't be able to happen. (yes, you can deadbolt yourself out of this house, there's a warning about it on the front door!) Fix the darn window, if you know about it, don't leave it for the rain and rodents to come in! I had to call to ask them to cover it up. We opened the garage door because of the smell, and then it wouldn't close. And why was there still wet stinking wash (used towels from the previous people) in the washer, and the dryer not working? Shouldn't the housekeeper have reported this previously? We had no use of laundry, and not enough clothes. The closest laundromat is 30 minutes drive away. (Did I mention the non functioning light in the laundry room? Try doing laundry at night in a wet, dark basement with a broken window and rodent poison boxes everywhere). Creepy. What a wonderful house that is less than 20 years old, too bad it is being neglected like this. I almost want to call up the owners and ask them to sell it before it's too late. But I don't want it, in fact, I don't want to come back. Ah well. Close to lovely, but a definite miss. We actually checked out a day early, and wasted our money. Out of clothes and out of patience.

My vacation time.
The property is well located, what we expected, but we have to say that the mattresses were very uncomfortable for a week of stay, maybe for two or three days are passable, the cleanest of the house were very poor in general, no blinds in the bedrooms, other than that we enjoyed our vacation up there in the mountains.
Really enjoyed the peace and quiet of this location. A bit farther from Helen than we thought, but not a big deal. The kids really enjoyed the loft and all it had to offer. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

DOE HEIGHTS
Very nice quiet home. Housekeeping staff could be better. We had a problem with dog hair other then that we enjoyed
The chalet was a great vacation getaway. I initially wanted to stay nearer to Helen GA, but this VRBO proved to be more ideal than I hoped. The owners curated a beautiful property filled with a life full of wonderful art, movies, books and music. All you can hear from the property is the wind through the trees, the birds and the very occasional car driving by in the distance. I hope to come back.

Great House
There is a reading nook up stairs along side a bedroom and a computer. Downstairs had 2 rooms, living room with a reading/sunroom next to it. Very spacious house, the only downfall is there where no blind/curtains not even in the bathroom other than that I would stay there again.

House is great but management company not so much!!
We loved our stay last week at Doe Heights except for management/maintenance issues. When we arrived on Saturday we were met with a sizable hole directly in front of the front door used to unload our things into he home. We reported the problem and were told someone would be there soon to fix it. While waiting on that to be corrected, the microwave stopped working. The maintenance man came Monday afternoon to fix both issues. He did a nice job on the deck but the microwave stopped working again the next day. We did without a microwave the rest of the stay. The other big problem is the hot water situation. There were only two of us in the house and we ended up having to take our shower each day at opposite times of the day to avoid one of us having to experience a cold shower. A large family would have a big problem with hot water. Outside the house needs lots of cleaning and maintaining. Housekeeping does not clean the deck area or the front porch at all and there were lots of dead bugs and “bug juice”. We also found two live scorpions. I had no idea they lived in that area of the country. An exterminator needs to be called for sure as I had read about the scorpion problem in an earlier review. I would
Love to stay there again but not unless I was assured that these problems had all been addressed. It was too expensive to have to deal with all those issues.

Cozy Cabin
What a comfy, homey home away from home! Very spacious for my family of 4 and the “teen space” upstairs was perfect for my two teens to kick back and hang out during our down time. We loved the board game selection. Great location...you can easily travel to Helen, Tallulah Falls, and Southeastern Expeditions. I highly recommend staying here and I hope to be back soon!

Lovely home, as advertised
It is lovely and comfortable and exactly as advertised. As a woman traveling alone, albeit with two dogs, I was a bit worried about the neighbor just down the hill shooting a gun - multiple sets of 3 bursts for about 15 minutes on Sunday afternoon- but I never saw them or any other person that weekend. I do wish the master tub held water as a good soak would have been nice. Bed was very comfortable, homes was very clean, furniture was also quite comfortable, and wifi and direct TV reception was excellent and unexpected being that remote. Kitchen was appropriately stocked including a variety of cookbooks which was a nice touch. As advertised, drive was very steep but fine. The best feature is the upper deck, where you can read all day listening to the wind rustling through the leaves - delightful!
Tucked away in the woods, sit in the living room and enjoy the sight of trees in every visible direction. I wanted a short getaway to recharge and the area (go visit Tallulah Falls) and this quiet area definitely helped me succeed.
