"Vréneli, Ruud, Estrella and Estela couldn’t have been better hosts. This is a fabulous space to relax in mountains of Andalusia, after an hour or so driving from Málaga airport. We hired a car from the airport and were glad to have chosen an automatic with a little more power than the average entry level rental car. The drive is fairly straightforward from Málaga Airport. By all accounts there are some amazing hikes, although the purpose of our trip was to switch off and relax as much as possible, and we had no intention of doing anything active. It’s tough to beat a delightful breakfast, freshly prepared and beautifully presented by Estela or Estrella, either looking towards La Maroma (the highest peak of the Sierra de Tejeda) or, from the other side of the table, down the valley to the Mediterranean Sea. Made better still with quality coffee, (and Cava’s always an option). Both Estrella and Estela were very patient with our extremely rudimentary Spanish conversations and have great local knowledge. Estrella very kindly made dinner reservations for us each night at different restaurants around Cómpeta, a short drive away. Our favourites were El Cortico Paco and for accommodating dietary requirements, the staff at El Pámpano were particularly helpful. We have already recommended Málaga Hills to friends and colleagues since returning home."

"The property is situated high in the mountains, the drive there is not for the faint hearted. Beautiful views, secluded and quiet aprox 20 mins from Valez Malaga where there are supermarkets. Market in Torre Del Mar on a Thursday morning worth a visit. Cómpeta aprox 30 min, lovely drive through mountains and villages, market on a Saturday. The property itself could do with a refresh, although this did not distract from our stay. It was clean, fresh linen, great pool and views. James was attentive to questions and responded to any requests. Air con available but requires 1or 2 euro coins to feed the meter, all other electric included in price. "Before we arrived the detail and communication we received was great, with very helpful (well needed) instructions to find the property. Beautiful villa in a very peaceful location, has everything you could possibly need and basic household items were all available from washing up liquid to hair dryers to beach chairs and brollies.The pool was lovely with a lot of outdoor space and loads of places to sit, with the most amazing view. The only downside is the challenging drive up to the villa is not for the faint hearted but ultimately leaves you in the most peaceful location with an incredible view. Would absolutely recommend! "

"Great value for money, we were very pleasantly surprised to have been upgraded to a family size room from a normal double. It was spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed, and very close to the shops. There is a busy road out the front so maybe a back room will be quieter. All in all we would stay there again. "

"Wonderfully well equipped - the kitchen has every gadget you could wish for and everything outside and inside has been thought of. Everything is of really high quality - from the gas bbq to the underfloor heating. Beds are comfy, bathrooms are excellent. There are at least four different areas to enjoy outside - a pool balcony with bbq; a roof terrace, a ground terrace and table tennis table. We loved the location - you can walk straight out into the National Park and hike to a local village (30-45 minutes).The host was exceptionally responsive and really cared that our stay was as perfect as it could be. An absolute gentleman. This villa is perfect for two groups as it is actually two completely self contained apartments upstairs and downstairs. Probably the best villa we have stayed in in Andalucia. Thank you! "

"The drive to the house was terrifying, we had people cancel day trips and plans because they didn’t want to drive the road to the house. One of my family refused to go in the car to Sayalonga and walked to the town every single time to avoid the scary drive. We were unable to use both pools on any of the days, it was one or the other and they were cloudy for most if not all of our stay. Not enough washing machines, refrigerator space, beds were uncomfortable, no a/c in the house, we had to buy about 20 fans so people could sleep. It was a nightmare and has tarnished VRBO for me personally. I have lost trust in your site. Shocking really"

"The property was beautiful set up high in the hills near sayalonga. The pool was lovely so refreshing when the sun beats down. Communication excellent , road down to algorrobo a bit rough but saves so much time. I would highly recommend this property. "
