"Over the year's i have stayed here occasionally but in the last 3 month's i have stayed more times then ever but the last visit was disturbing. For the first time ever an older male desk attendant wanted a $100.00 deposit for the room (on top of the Expedia Fee for the room of $115.81 already on a pay hold) which was never wanted or collected before? But when a couple of day's later the Deposit was not returned and i went back to the Hotel to ask him about why it wasn't? He then got all defensive and would not return the deposit because it had been returned already which i had proof was not true and was never returned but was indeed charged as a credit not a deposit. So with this last quite disturbing behavior by this man i am not sure if i will chance staying there again? Why bother. 👎 A A L"

"Absolutely no parking, circled the perimeter of hotel for 20 minutes. Only option was to pay $20 cash to Marriott garage around corner, inconvenient. There was huge pieces of hair on bathroom floor. No microwave in room as stated on Lumea by the Sea website. I am told and showed attendant this. They offer a business office/tea/ coffee/water for an additional $25 it’s called the Revive room, very small. Never experienced a hotel charging extra to use computer. Off putting. Only good thing is it was quiet. "

"Well to start off, there was no mention of construction going on to the hotel. They were working well into the late afternoon till around 6 or so. The restaurant was under construction as well and they moved the dinning area to conference room that happen to have a balcony. It was kinda awkward and no one didnt really know what to do when you get in. The food was good though. The cocktails were just ok. We tool the kids to the pool in the afternoon. We had it to ourselves for a brief moment until a group of people , 3 guys and 2 girls, came in and started blasting there music. 1 guy was saying he didnt care about playing the music loud and yelled out, "I own this F...ing motel!" Im pretty sure he didnt lol. All the pool noodles they had available looked like someone took a bite out of them and spit the pieces into the pool. There was chunks of pool noodle floating all over the pool. The little beach sitting area was nice. That was well taking care of and had a nice view of the water. The rooms were nice and had a great view if you get the balcony rooms. The ice machines and vending machine had locked cage doors on them and i wasnt sure if i need to prop the door so i could get out or close it and be locked in lol. The pictures from what i seen on the Expedia profile wasnt exactly the same when i got there. "

"The staff was awesome here. Super friendly and willing to help when they can. The property was very well kept and my kids loved it there. The food was really good as well. We had the Pizza, buffalo wings and a tuna melt sandwich. No one was disappointed. We will be looking forward to staying here again. "

"I found the City Center Hotel to be an affordable, cute midcentury hotel in the heart of downtown Long Beach. There is a lovely courtyard with plentiful seating and a French-inspired restaurant with cocktails open Tue-Sat from 5pm to 9pm. (Though it seems they close at 10pm on the weekends.) Also, there is a kidney-shaped pool surrounded by lounge chairs. I picked this hotel because they allow dogs. I would give this hotel four stars if it wasn’t for two things: 1) I requested a quiet room away from the ice machine and was quite dismayed they put me in the only room RIGHT NEXT TO THE ICE MACHINE. Not only was it next to ice machine, but it was also one of two rooms with a giant window that looked out onto the noisy, downtown street. Along with the sound of car alarms and people yelling, my dog barked loudly every time someone came to get ice. (Fortunately, they moved me to a quieter room the next day.) 2) The property appears to be a small, boutique hotel but it is run by a large corporation that manages 75 properties and uses Artificial Intelligence to communicate with you. If you request a late checkout, AI will tell you it’s not available or route you to a page where you can only get a late check if you pay for it. I found this lack of customer service off-putting. Things to know: • There is no designated hotel parking. There isn’t even a passenger drop off / pick up area in front of the reception area. Also, it is challenging to find parking downtown at night, and "

"Our room was ready a little bit early when we got there and they let us check in. We got the mini suite because there were three of us. We booked here due to the convenience of being right next-door to the Carnival cruise terminal where we were going to sail out after spending the night at the Queen Mary. There was a queen size bed and a pullout couch that I believe was also queen size. There are also two full bathrooms in the suite. It’s dark and a little bit creepy but in a good way. It’s old, elegant and really cool. Our irritation came when I realized (rather close to bedtime) that the pullout couch was not made. I pulled it out and there were no sheets. There were no sheets or bedding in the closet either. So I went to the front desk to request such and after waiting for more than an hour, I had to go back and ask again. The daytime and nighttime staff were like night and day. Daytime staff super helpful and accommodating. Very great with customer service. Nighttime staff unfriendly, cold and slightly rude. I finally got those sheets delivered to the door, but I had to put them on myself. Not exactly what I was anticipating for a room that cost over $350 for one night. I liked the experience, but I probably won’t do it again. The observation deck bar was a great time!"
