This small country inn was situated nearly by itself. It had an "olde" vibe with cosy pub that came to life with locals in the early evening, quaint short doorways etc. The Included breakfast was varied (eggs benny with smoked salmon, and yogurt with granola for example). The very small restaurant also provided a nice dinner. Bed and bath were comfortable. Some of the decor was a bit tired looking (bed throw in particular) but all in all it was a good place to stay.

We had an absolute fabulous time, we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. All the staff are very frendly and the service is excellent. Food is fantastic and a great selection of beers, I would highly recommend and will be staying again if I am in the area.

On our tour of Somerset, Devon & Cornwall the Bathurst Arms was the Highlight! The ideal place to base yourself if you’re exploring the Cotswolds. Comfortable & clean rooms, welcoming staff and great food. The pub is a mix of tourists and friendly locals. Highly recommend! Make sure you explore the local villages on foot or via car. Make sure you take the roads less traveled!

Idyllic location, pub full of character and friendly staff/locals (and dogs!). Food in the restaurant was great, very tasty and reasonably priced. Prompt service too. Stayed one night in a King en-suite room and was like home from home. Bed really comfy and had a great nights sleep. Nice touch of having the radio on in the room when I arrived, too - little touches like that were appreciated. Lovely to meet the owners too, an all round fabulous place to eat/drink and stay!

On arrival greeted by very pleasant young lady. We had traveled a long distance(240 miles) and we were looking forward to sitting down for an evening meal.We were informed that there was not any food Monday or Tuesday in the evening this is not stated on the website so we had to travel for food. Breakfast is 8.30 u till 9.30 so got down for breakfast to be told that the chef had not turned up said chef lives at the top of the building so no hot breakfast, a different young lady also very nice and embarrassed made hot drinks and toast.The staff we came into contact with were very pleasant and tried their best with no management. We had back to back appointments from 10.00 so didn’t get food until 3.30 so Breakfast was an important part when booking

The room was ok but the restaurant was very expensive so decided to eat somewhere else. Extremely disappointed that breakfast was served from 8.30 to 9.30. When on business, I need to be out and away by 8.30. A clever way of avoiding cooking breakfast for travellers. Not impressed as I went the whole day without anything.

Best room in the house!! 31st March
We were only booked in for one night but we will certainly return. Our welcome was warm and friendly we enjoyed drinks in the bar which is warm lovely atmosphere with the pub locals. Our 3 course dinner in the dining room was of a very high standard we had the evening special a fillet of pork with garlic and potato rossti was delicious, my only criticism would be just a little disappointed in the standard of the coffee.

Amazing stay. Room was very clean and bed comfortable. The service was above and beyond. Very friendly. The food the best I have ever tasted, the chef cooking for us and another couple on his day off. He did a taster menu that made my mouth dance so much I didn't want the dishes to end. Highly recommend.

Nice location and good sized room at cosy Cotswold pub. Great shower, good heating and comfortable bed. Bathroom needs some TLC - removal of mould & discolouration on tile grout (I recommend a grout pen!). It would make the en-suite look so much better. We couldn’t sample the full breakfast as needed to leave by 8am, but were kindly offered cereal, juice and toast at 7:30 which was very much appreciated. Thank you. I hope to return for dinner some time soon.

Lovely place to stay, staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, the room was comfy and clean. Tapas style food was available which made a nice change, and it seemed a popular place, both for holidaymakers like us and locals, there was a big beer garden by the river, with ducks. Its ideally situated for exploring the Cotswolds The breakfasts were lovely!

Nice hotel with friendly staff, we stayed in room 2 which did not have a view and only had a single shallow wardrode, the room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast good standard. The menu was based on a tapas style platters and prides its menu as being organic produce. Although we enjoyed the food the portion sizes are small and expensive for what you get. Overall we enjoyed our stay but thought our room was overpriced considering its size and amenities and have stayed in much nicer rooms for less money

We had a great stay, very friendly and helpful staff. Jenny was very helpful with any questions we had and Jack was great behind the bar. Food was brilliant and locally sourced the chef Toby was great with his unusual ideas. The room was a bit tired and in need of a new carpet but the size was good. Would definitely return.

Nice room with fresh white linen and plenty of tea, biscuits and coffee available in the room. Poor food hygiene, ate in the bar and got food poisoning and was on the toilet for an hour the next morning, couldn’t face breakfast. They need to sort the kitchen hygiene quickly! It needs a full local council inspection to ascertain what’s gone wrong. I ate the homemade pie in the bar.

The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable plenty of tea/coffee etc. Bathroom was clean. We had our evening meal in the bar and was not disapointed. Breakfast was superb aswell. Definitely recommend this hotel, though near a main road traffic was very minimal. Our hosts were friendly and accommodated to our needs.
