We had a lovely time in Lower Mill. I especially liked the three bathrooms. Jennifer, was really helpful providing suggestions on where to eat and where to take the children. They liked the heated outdoor swimming pool.

Relaxing Family Getaway
This cottage is exactly as described and was a very comfortable and well-equipped base for our family to enjoy the Lower Mill Estate and surrounding Cotswolds area. Would definitely return!

Great space for 6, great location
The house was spacious enough for our group of 6, very comfortable, well appointed. We made use of the deck for some al fresco dining which was great. The Mill Estate is a great place to unwind with lots of activities for kids and adults.

Great stay in a lovely location
We had a lovely time staying at river cottage. It was well equipped and the location was great with lots to see and do. The host Jennifer was very helpful and provided us with lots of information regarding things to see and do and was always quick to respond to any queries. Would definitely recommend river cottage and look forward to staying again some day.

Fabulous stay
We had a great time in Lower Mill. The property was really well equipped and the host, Jennifer, was really helpful providing advice on the local area. The kids loved the estate, especially the outdoor swimming pool, the play park at the cafe/restaurant and all the dragonflies. Will definitely visit again.

Great weekend
Fantastic weekend! Everything we could need in the cottage and nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. The only thing we would change is the length of stay - a weekend isn't long enough!

Excellent cottage in great location
We had a great halfterm week in this lovely property. The house is extremely comfortable and clean, with everything you could need for a family holiday. It’s in a good location on the edge of the Lower Mill estate, not far from the activity hub (where you can hire bikes, SUPs etc), the outdoor swimming pool, and also the excellent on-site restaurant with playground. Beautiful surroundings and friendly, helpful staff running the estate. Jennifer was wonderfully helpful throughout the booking process and gave us lots of information on things to do. We loved the sculpture park and aquapark, both less than 10 mins drive away. A really lovely part of the country and the perfect location from which to explore. Thank you Jennifer!

Go out doors for fun and chill at the end of the day
Great location, could have had a few more days to explore . Overall lovely house to stay, all the basics provided & host very helpful and thoughtful. Only disappointment was the pool was rather chilly outside, as the heater was not working. Having young children the pool was what we wanted to use and the other outside pool was limited to its opening times. You really need to book the restaurant well ahead of you stay.

I was only informed from the estate there was a fault in the boiler and wasn’t working in the afternoon after you checked out so hopefully you were still able to make use of the pool during your stay. Very comfortable cottage in excellent location.
Third time we have stayed at this property. Comfortable with lots of space for 4 adults who like to have a bedroom each. Very well equipped with everything we needed. Very convenient location. Great view over lake from bedroom balcony.

Perfect stay
We stayed at the cottage for 4 nights. The estate was so beautiful and felt very safe.. The cottage was in a very good location, there was a pool, water activities, and close to lots of restaurants and Cirencester town. The property was spacious and spotless, nothing to fault. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!

Great location for a friends 50th!
I stayed at this lovely house for a friend's 50th birthday and we had a great weekend. The house is warm, cosy, and had plenty of room for 6 good friends to get together. The host was helpful and thoughtful and left treats in the fridge for our arrival, remembering it was a 50th! The Lower Mill Estate is a real treat for anyone who likes to be out and about and we managed some running, walking, paddle boarding and a swim along with the games (Disco Bingo!) and a murder mystery we had planned for the house! Wifi was excellent, which is not always the case!

Perfect family holiday
We (2 adults and 3 children) enjoyed a lovely 3 week stay in Jennifer’s beautiful cottage. The property is well equipped and very comfortable. The rooms are all of a good size and the living area is big enough to accommodate everyone comfortably on indoor rainy days. Lower Mill Estate has enough to keep adults and children entertained without any need to venture further but, for a longer stay, the property is well located with easy access to everything the Cotswolds has to offer. Communication prior to and during our stay was excellent. We fully recommend this property.

Lovely holiday, even without sun!
First class. Would recommend booking entry to Water Park and beach well in advance and also swimming pools in the spa. We didn’t realise that was separate booking from the outdoor Mill Pool.

Exceeded our expectations - A Wonderful Cottage in a great location
We stayed here October 2020, originally we had booked for two familes to stay, however due to the restrictions only one family went (which fortunatley was us). The owner at the time (Eileen) was extremely helpful and due to the Covid situation did everything she could to make our stay wonderful. Checking in was easy, there is a space for 1 car, right outside the cottage & just a short 2-3 min walk is small car park. On arrival was a bottle of wine waiting for us in the fridge and delicious biscuits (a very lovely touch). The Cottage was very clean, the lounge area was so cosy with a fire, two seating areas made it feel spacious with the outside veranda, perfect for storing your bikes in. It was too cold to use this area, in the Spring or summer it would be perfect. with the BBQ and seating area. The kitchen was well equipped and a good size. The upstairs is spacious, as we were a family of four we had lots of space. There are two lovely double bedrooms (ensuite) either end of the house, one over looking the other houses (small car park) and the other over looking the stream. In the middle is a bunk bedroom and a single bedroom, very comfortable. There is also a bathroom for these two rooms, plenty of bathrooms. It is so peaceful but within walking distance to the spa, outdoor Pool, Restaurant/Bar (Balihoo) and Hub (all within 3-5 min walk). We hired bikes from the Hub, the area of the complex is beautiful, with much wildlife, woodlands, cycling paths and all gated for added security. It feels very safe and calming. The Balihoo Club (restaurant/bar) was really nice we ate there one morning for breakfast and dinner one night. The Cottage was so cosy after a few hours walking or bike riding we just wanted to get back in front of the fire, with a glass of wine and relax, so we ate a few times back at the Cottage. The complex has everything, however we did venture out and drove to Stowe on the Wold, Bibury, Bourton on the water, these are around 30-45 mins away, a wonderful route. We also stopped at Daylesford Farm shop, which also has a bar, cafe, flower shop it is lovely and worth a visit. We really enjoyed our stay at River Cottage, extremely relaxing, comfortable and homely. Our two Children (4 & 11) enjoyed the outdoor heated Pool and the bike ride around the woods and complex. We would love to visit again in the future and hopefully with the family that was not able to come. We have not stopped talking about it. Thank you

We had a wonderful short break in this lovely cottage. Everything we could need was available to us when checked in - including some thoughtful gifts in the fridge. The outdoor area was a great place to spend the one warm evening we had and the views from the bedrooms are great on a sunny day. Would highly recommend.

All the prior organising with the home owner was so easy - quick response to any requests and check in all extremely simple. Lovely cosy environment to catch up with family and friends
Had a lovely weekend break in the cottage with extended family! Although, we went during Storm Dennis, It was great to return to the cottage and know we would be warm and comfortable. It had everything we needed - great that it had 2 en-suites and a family bathroom so everyone was happy. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and the owners provided essentials if you needed them! Thanks Eileen for a lovely trip!

Perfect for 3 generations of family who enjoy walking!
The cottage is lovely and the host makes a great effort to provide lots of extra touches which made us feel really at home. We stayed for a week during a heatwave but the cottage was cool and comfortable, with plenty of space for 3 children and 4 adults, ranging from 12 to 77! The interior is well maintained and clean and the location is wonderful, with views across the river to the lake beyond. Although the properties at Lower Mill Estate are quite close together we did not feel overlooked and found it quiet even during this peak season. The outdoor pool on site was enjoyed by us all to cool down after a day out walking and the kids really enjoyed the trampoline! The host provided lots of information on things to do and we managed several lovely walks/runs/bike rides on the network of quiet shady footpaths. Only small niggle is that there is only 1 parking space at the property but it's only a short walk to the main carpark so wasn't really an issue for us. Thank you Eileen for your excellent communication throughout the booking process and for ensuring we had everything we needed for a wonderful holiday. Would highly recommend!

A perfect base
The cottage was an absolute dream from the moment we walked through the front door. We were immediately relaxed and felt totally at home. This is such a wonderful home away from home.

Absolutely wonderful!
The river cottage is the perfect holiday destination! It is quaint yet well equipped, cozy yet comfortable. Eileen was a delight to work with from the very beginning and made us feel so at home! All the linens and furnishings are very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed for our children and two sets of grandparents! We couldn’t have asked for anything more... except maybe a longer stay!

A stunning property in gorgeous surroundings. We stayed as a party of 8 - 4 adults, 4 children. Everyone had a comfy bed of their own and lots of bathrooms /en suites to go round. Wonderful attention to detail and lovely personal touches. Highly recommended. Will return if in the area again.
