Impeccably clean and stunning views, these photos don't do it justice.
Impeccably clean and stunning views, these photos don't do it justice. Hosts went above and beyond to ensure we had a nice time, knew where everything was and left a little welcome pack with cakes and wine. Plenty of logs for the fire though we had to buy some kindling as we weren't doing the greatest job setting it up. And lots of walks for all abilities nearby.
Greeted by hosts on arrival who supplied plentiful provision, including a bottle of wine and home made cakes. Amazing views from the cottage. Found plenty to do in the vicinity.
I would book this cottage again but I certainly wouldn't book through Stayz. After accepting the booking and half the payment, I was told the final payment had to be paid to another company in the UK which was not at all convenient as I was booking from Australia. I won't ever book anything through Stayz again.

Good accommodation with exceptional views across the Severn .
Good accommodation with exceptional views across the Severn . Various walks without needing to travel in the beautiful forest. Hospitable owners offering local advice and checking that we were comfortable. The location probably could not be bettered. It was very nice to have the log burner but is perfectly warm anyway-we just enjoy the extra cosiness.

We had a great time at Vale View Cottage, Stuart and Debbie were great hosts and showed us around the property when we arrived. The property was clean and there was hand sanitiser available. The views from the property are simply stunning and worth the trip alone. The kitchen is well equipped and we comfortably managed to cook all our meals there. There is a selection of DVD's available at the cottage, however, I would recommend bringing some of your own if staying for more than a few days. Strong WiFi connection downstairs so we were able to easily check which attractions were open etc. Short easy journey (around 10 mins) to the cycle centre at the Forest of Dean which was our main reason for the stay.

A very comfortable cottage.
A very comfortable cottage. There are two things which we thought could have been better handled. There were roadworks in progress in the road outside and apparently the two parking spaces allocated to us were unavailable because they had been dug up. We didn't know this until we arrived. I think this should have been made clear in the brochure as the parking amenities influenced us to choose this cottage. Also the Wifi was so weak, coming from next door, that it was virtually useless. In the advert for the cottage wifi was mentioned as being available.
