"We just came from a wonderfull stay at this paradise. The service was at it finest, and the location to. We were so lucky, that the staff (Susanna) upgraded our room to a supirior, because there were one free. The room was so beautifull - the combination of wood, stone and “farm” style has sat an impression of us. You really need to experience this place. Both the location, but very much the service indeed. Incredible breakfeast, haven’t got anyting near this standard for the money before....

Vila Gale Collection Braga Hotel

8/10 Good

"Unusual and very nice hotel. All staff were friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was a big plus. Bathrooms are functional and clean but not as luxorious as some at this price point. Fitness room was fine and in line with most similar hotels, the indoor pool was surprisingly a low point as there was no music or atmosphere. Great location right in the centre of the city - we will likely use this chain again when back in Portugal"

"The property was in a great location! The property was lovely and modern."

Tempus Hotel & Spa

8/10 Good

"Things I like about the hotel: The restaurant is exceptional. The breakfast while extra is good. The dinner is excellent. The food and desserts are some of the best I’ve had in Portugal. As a luso-American, I know the importance of complimenting your host’s wine, so I will say it is affordable, but I would appreciate different wine options such as one of the excellent Douro region wines or Porto. The staff is very friendly and kind. The location is also good. Areas for improvement: Having been to other four star hotels in Portugal, I have a certain expectation for the condition of the room. But I do not come from wealth, so I also try to be understanding. The hotel is mid-renovation, which is good because it is somewhat dated. The carpet in our room was stained near the door and there was damage on the lower portion of the walls. To be clear, this isn’t an un-nice hotel, but it did not meet my expectations for a four star hotel. The bar was unmanned every time we went in. However, we stayed there over the Republic Day holiday weekend, so there may have been a staffing shortage. Overall not a bad hotel, but it also does not meet my expectations for the price or star rating. A staffed bar and finishing the renovations would assuage my concerns."

Stella Braga Aparthotel

"Lovely large room, staff were so friendly and the hotel was immaculate. Slightly out of town but not far to drive or taxis. Great place to stay"

Amoure Hotel

"This was by far one of the most luxurious high end hotels by far in Portugal, service was fantastic and you will be wow by the attention and overall everything from staff to clean room and great aesthetics"

What is the best area to stay in Cibões?

The best area to stay in Cibões is in the heart of the village, particularly around the church and along the main road, Rua Principal. This central part of Cibões offers a tranquil setting with easy access to local amenities and the region's natural beauty. The village itself is small and spread out, so staying centrally provides the most convenience. The vineyards are typically lush, offering scenic views and opportunities for wine tasting without the crowds of peak season. For solo travellers interested in cultural exploration, these shoulder seasons provide a comfortable climate for visiting historical sites in nearby Braga, such as the Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary, or participating in local festivals that often occur before the main summer rush or after it subsides.
