There wasn’t even a basic city map available, something you’d expect at any hotel. When I went down for breakfast, I was led to a basement that felt more like a wine cellar. The serving dishes were empty, and the guests were just looking at each other in disbelief. In my 40 years of traveling, this hotel in Telč, Czech Republic, was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.
