Nightmare
The hostel bar downstairs plays loud music until early morning. I'm not like some 70 year old lady filing a noise complaint beacuse the neighbors cat sneezed. The sound level in the room two floors up was as loud as the dancefloor itself and the base was shaking massively in the room. Wifi was absolutely horrible but worked every now and then when I went to the top floor, where I ended up staying until early in the morning beacuse sleeping would have been impossible in the room. I tried calling the the hostel emergency number to complain but they didn't even pick up. I'm not a difficult person that makes a habit of complaining about small issues and I've travelled a lot and out of the maybe 200 different accommodations I've been in, this is the single worst experience that I've had. It was way way worse than inadvertently booking accommodation on a busy street during some festivities in Spain. I heard from the other two people in my dorm that the guy in the bunk bed under me had left a day earlier because he couldn't take another night, so I'm not exaggerating. Luckily I only had to endure this for one night as it was only a short transfer to my final destination but had I booked more nights I might have started smashing up the place in desperation. I'm usually too lazy to write reviews but this place really angered me. Also there were no hangers for clothes etc in the room.

The property was clean and very basic. Impressed by the space.A lot to be desired with fixtures and fittings especially bed and bedding. Bedding sheet had holes and thin, no matress protector. Quilt covers washed out colour with stains. Truly awful. There was a sofa which l slept on fully clothed. Inexpensive problems to fix. Such as replacing furniture with upgrades,rather than the flimsy clothing rail and wooden slatted boxes serving as bed side tables. Minor shower repair needed too. Could be a great place with these changes.

Viva Chur
Viva Chur was a low cost stay. It is opposite night clubs and a busy road, but that was not a problem on the night we stayed. However, women may feel a little intimidated by the area. The bedding was not comfortable. The sheets had a hole in them and the pillows were very poor. There was no catering and the tea/coffee room was locked in the evening and morning, so no chance of anything other than tap water. It was near the old town, which was good and a 10 minute walk from the railway and bus station. The room was OK, the bathroom warm and clean. Other than the low cost the Hostel has little appeal

Spacious & clean hostel in central Chur
The hostel was in a good location - walkable to the train station. Reception was closed when we arrived but we were able to call and obtain the code to enter. It had been emailed to us but was automatically sent to spam. The room was spacious and clean as well as the bathroom. The kitchen facilities are poor - there's no sink. It seems to also function as a night club but wasn't open during our stay (Monday night in February) - noise cancelling headphones are provided for each bed. During our stay, the hostel and neighborhood were very quiet.

i should have read the reviews properly
walkable from train station like 10 mins. not really easy to spot i would say. it’s actually a hostel and a club. oh goodness it was noisy at night. i was awaken by it. they did provide 2 nos of headphones which i do not know if i should compliment. cos honestly why would i sleep with one. there’s a few more bars/clubs nearby. not my kinda place. won’t recommend for those with family.

The hottest club in town.
The room was clean and comfortable, by European standards. The shared bathrooms and showers were immaculate. The host was friendly and helpful. This hostel is above the hottest club in town, for young people who want loud dance music with a line up to get in all night. Hostel guests enter through a seperate door and get noise cancelling headphones to sleep with.

Budget hotel with noisy night
Clean & proper. Near to take bus for 2 stops from the train station. But it was very noisy at the bar downstairs till 3pm.

Large room surrounded by heavy and noisy music
The Hostel is located in an old building with modern interior but without lift. The reception staff was very helpful and took my heavy luggage to my room on 2nd floor. It is away from main train station but close to a local train stop (Stadt Chur) and a bus stop (Malteser) which may transit to main train station. The hostel is surrounded by numbers of bars which play very heavy and noisy music until early next morning. The room and the toilet are very large but neither electric fan nor TV is provided.

It takes about 10 min to walk from the train station to the VIVA Hostel. But it's correct there are very close bus stops and also a train stop. Room and linen were not clean, mattresses were thin and in poor condition. I ended up with a bruise from the support bar in the bed base. Noisy.

Avoid if you want to sleep
It's a Hostel. No comfort what so ever. Not even night lights, no towels, no hooks in shower, extra toilet paper stored outside of toilet. But it's a hostel, seems to be normal. Bad, really bad: The noise from the club in the basement of the same house kept me awake until 2 am. Owner tried to help, offered another room which was not available. Breakfast is minimal. I will not go there again, nor do I recommend. I have been in great hostels, this does not compare

Thank you for your review. We have improved a lot of things now. The Hostel is quite new, we just opened it in May. The breakfast offers more now. We added different types of cereals, fruits, yoghurt and a few other things. The night club is just open during the weekends (Thursday until Saturday) I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay here at the VIVA Hostel. We still try to improve and learn a lot of things.

a terrible hostel
The hostel is really terrible. The smell of paint on the wall is suffocating. There is even no trash bin or a small table in the room. You have only four hours in a day to check in, from 16:00 to 20:00. The ground floor is a bar so it is hard to fall asleep with heavy metal music rocking your bed deep into night. The price is extremely high given all the above conditions.

Hello Thank you for your review. We know, our start in May could have been better. The smell of paint was because we renovated the whole building before we opened the Hostel. Everything was quite new for us. Now we improved a lot of things, but we had to learn and we are thankful for every review. Now you can find bins in the rooms, every bed has a light now and we have also some deposit surfaces. The reception is open from 14:00 until 22:00 I think you can't get a cheaper option to sleep here in Chur. The club is still there in is open during the weekends not everyday. I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your time here. Hopefully other guests can enjoy it now and we still try to improve and learn a lot. Have a nice time :-) VIVA Hostel Team

War soweit in Ordnung, leider hörte man den Bass der Musik im Bett trotz Ohrstöpsel als Hämmern. Im 3. Stock war es sehr warm und stickig aber das ist der Lokalisation geschuldet. Insgesamt völlig ok würde wieder kommen für 1-2 Nächte

Bad, but cheap
There was no reception, like it stood. The wifi barley worked, it worked good in their nightclub they have in the same building. The check in was easy, but their mail with the Instructions came to my scrap box. The beds in the dorm was almost broken, I was lucky that Noone slept in the bed over me. No AC, no good windows, the sun waked me up early in the morning. There was a fridge and a coffee machine but they didn't work. There was also a washing machine but it didn't work.

我們住雙人房，房間很乾淨但是浴室沒有門，沐浴間也半透明。整體來講是個位置很好而且舒適的地方（旁邊走個200公尺有纜車和超市coop喔！）

Para hostel as acomodações são ótimas, tudo bem limpo e organizado. Nosso quarto não tinha ar-condicionado, porém não trouxe problema a nossa estadia, abrimos a janela à noite e o quarto ficou bem fresco.

Hostal muy al límite en calidad/precio
La relación calidad/precio no es buena. Es un hostal muy básico para el precio. Los colchones no tienen funda, lo que es bastante anti higiénico, aunque los edredones y la almohada si. La ubicación es muy buena, la estación de trenes está muy cerca y el centro de la ciudad también. El lugar está en lo que parece la "zona roja". Aunque no vi ningún problema cerca. El personal es muy amable. Habiendo pocas opciones en Chur/Coira (aunado a que Suiza es de por si muy caro) no está mal en general, pero pienso que podrían ofrecer un poco de más limpieza al menos.

Hallo Carlos, thank you for your feedback and suggestion that we could offer a little more for the money. We do our best to be the cheapest location to stay in Chur and in order to do this we do not offer some of the things that you would typically find in a hotel. One thing that we do not go with out, is the fitted sheets on beds, which you have suggested where missing during your stay. Gepflegtes Zimmer jedoch Disco bis um 03.00 Uhr
Dieses Hostel würden wir wieder buchen, wäre da nicht direkt neben dem Hotel eine Disco, welche bis um 03.00 voll Musik abspielt.Sogar das Bett hatte vibriert.

Vielen dank für die Bewertung. Es tut uns sehr leid wegen der lauten Discomusik. Das Hostel liegt direkt in der Partystrasse von Chur daher ist es an den Wochenenden eher laut bei uns. Freundliche Grüsse Das VIVA Hostel Tea
