Lovely cottage in a charming village. Had everything we needed for our stay, and the breakfast was a nice extra. Parking is on street, but there were always spaces available. Well placed to reach desired destinations, and with plenty of walks from the doorstep.

Wonderful stay!
Wow, what a find! Absolutely beautiful cottage in a lovely, friendly village. We had lovely meals at the Red Lion and the Chulmleigh Tandoori, and were lucky enough to coincide with the fish and chip van (Tuesdays 5-7pm opposite the library!) Great visits to Westward Ho! and Exmoor Zoo. Unfortunately didn't manage any walks due to a sprained ankle! The only thing that was a tiny disappointment was that I hadn't realised the courtyard wasn't directly accessible from inside the cottage, but it didn't matter at all and we would really love to return.

Anniversary treat
This tastefully decorated and furnished cottage was the perfect place to come back to each day after visiting our destination for the day. We covered many miles of country lanes and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The cottage had everything we needed as a home from home.

Surprisingly large, comfy home in a hidden gem location
Loved our few days away in Devon. We had planned to visit a few places across the county, so picked this cottage simply as it was in the middle, but we were so pleasantly surprised with how great the house was. Very spacious and comfortable and a lovely social space whilst still being cosy and welcoming. The village has all you need: a shop, a bakery, a couple of good pubs and a couple of takeaways. There’s a little car park just up the hill and around the corner that we used for the car. All-in-all, a great stay and we’d definitely stay again if back in the area!

Lovely Cottage in a Lovely Town
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Courtyard Cottage. Loved the open plan layout downstairs and the ensuite in the master bedroom was a real bonus as the kids subsequently had their own bathroom. We all commented on how comfy the beds were! We had everything we needed for a short break and the welcome package of bread, milk, cereal etc was very welcome as we arrived late on the Friday night. Chulmleigh itself is a lovely little town with plenty of amenities - we thoroughly recommend a meal in the Chulmleigh Tandoori. We only had a couple of days on this occasion but having previously lived in Devon, this location would be ideal for visiting Dartmoor, Exmoor, the North Devon Coast, Exeter etc. Communication from Chris was excellent and we look forward to a return visit soon.

Lovely well equipped cottage in a very friendly village. A short walk gets you to both village pubs and the Indian restaurant which are all worth a visit. Recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing break in rural Devon

Absolutley beautiful and peaceful stay.
We stayed here over New Year 21/22 and we had such a wonderful and peaceful stay within this quaint and well equipped cottage. This modern cottage was very comfortable. The bread, butter, milk, condiments and breakfast cereal were so welcoming. The cottage is within a minute's walk to the nearest cosy pub. The locals are so friendly and welcoming and really made us feel at home. There were a few walks that we did, (all be it that they were muddy walks but we were equipped for the occasion!) we were after a relaxing break (we work in schools so you can understand why!!) and where we had parked our car upon our arrival is where it stayed until our departure! We enjoyed it so much that we're looking to book again for later in the year, but cheaper directly!! Chumleigh is a very quiet but for us the amenities within the vicinity were enough. Thank you Mr and Mrs Parker, we will certainly be returning.

A really beautiful and extremely clean cottage with everything included (iron, towels, microwave, fridge etc). My wife and I absolutely loved staying here. As an added bonus, there is a really friendly old fashioned pub with a very nice warm fire literally yards from the cottage.

Wonderful Staycation!
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautifully furnished property. It had everything we needed for our stay and more. It was tastefully decorated and furnished. The breakfast extras were also welcomed. It was also a bonus to have both a bath and shower. We were told we could stay in the property until 11 on the day we were leaving, however the cleaner turned up early thinking we were vacating at 10. We had already packed our belongings anyway so loaded up the car and left. If in the area I would definitely be returning to this well maintained and beautiful residence.

Great holiday cottage
The cottage is very spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owner even provides bread, milk, breakfast cereals and preserves for your arrival. The village is very nice with a range of shops and two good pubs less than five minutes walk away. Convenient for all the north Devon attractions as well as Dartmoor. Recommended.

Fabulous cottage

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The property is cosy and well equipped with everything you need. It’s a lovely touch that essential provisions are provided on arrival. The beds are very comfortable and property very clean. I would recommend this cottage in a quiet village location that has everything you need. A bakers, butchers, convenience store, good Indian restaurant and 2 pubs.

Beautiful Accommodation and excellent location
The property is gorgeous and at one point my husband was considering just moving in!! It has all the amenities you could ever need, my daughter loved having her own bathroom with bath while we had an en-suite with a huge shower. The property is beautifully decorated and has lovely furnishings and is a quirky little cottage. Parking is ample and even if you can’t park outside the cottage there is a free car park just up the road and to the right. The village has a few little shops including a bakery, newsagents and off-licence. Then you also have two pubs which both serve food, The Red Lion also does its full menu as a take away if you don’t want to cook but still want dinner at home. Location wise you are about an hour from Clovelly village and Tintagel and about 40 mins from Dartmoor so great for exploring Devon. Would definitely recommend this property as it was excellent value for money and we will hopefully be returning at some point in the future.

A very comfortable, well presented cottage in a lovely village. The standard of equipment and decoration is first class making this a real "hone from home". Easy access to both coasts (North and South) so a great base to explore from.

Courtyard Cottage was in the pretty village of Chulmleigh. We found the accommodation very comfortable and it had everything that we needed. It had been recently refurbished to a very high standard and the location was convenient for exploring north Devon.

Lovely break in beautiful Devon
This was a great cottage in the centre of a lovely quiet village. The cottage was well equipped, clean and very comfortable. The village had good local shops, pubs etc. It is also not far away from Exeter or Barnstaple. There is plenty to do round and about and we did some lovely country walks and on the Tarka trail.

Lovely Break in beautiful Nth Devon
A lovely little cottage in a sweet hilltop village. One of the best equipped and most comfortable properties we've stayed in; there really seemed to be nothing we needed that wasn't there. This was just a short break to break the routine of work, home, TV and bed that seems to have been our lives this year!! Perfect place to explore the area: we went to Barnstaple, Arlington Court, Appledore, Rosemoor Garden e.g. The village is very friendly with at least 2 good pubs. All in all, our break in Chulmeigh was exactly what we were looking for.

We had a very comfortable stay in Courtyard Cottage. The cottage is thoughtfully decorated and furnished with everything we needed. Well equipped kitchen where we cooked some evening meals, great take aways too as the village is thriving in terms of its offer to residents, good shops, two pubs and golf course. Easy travel for sightseeing but also good walks from the village. What more to say? Comfy beds, great shower, nice and warm, TV streaming services and friendly, interesting village. We highly recommend!

Relaxing cottage with so much in driving distance
The cottage is just a couple of minutes' walk from pubs, restaurants and the local shops. The pub food was good and the convenience store stocks the basics. There are some beautiful walks from the property and the pavilion field is just a 15 minute walk away - great for an energetic child who wants a play park or to kick a ball around. The cottage is full of character. It's clean, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and the WiFi is good too. There's so much to do within a 40/45 minute drive - what's not to like?! I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in that area.

The village experience
The property was great for our base to explore Devon. We had all the comforts we needed so were able to relax and unwind with ease at the end of each busy day. The cottage was in the centre of the village with the pub conveniently located a few doors done and the bakery which we visited daily for treats. It was a great way to unwind from the stress of urban living and to see what life in a village can be like.

We had a wonderful stay at Courtyard Cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful, very comfortable in a quiet location. Plenty of parking and Chris made sure we had supplies of milk, bread, cereals, etc on arrival which was a lovely touch. Great pub just down the road, with fab food. We explored north and south Devon. We loved Tarr steps in Exmoor. Chris was a perfect host. The cottage is beautifully decorated, so clean, lovely towels and everything you would need. A great place to explore Devon. We stayed for a weekend in July. Booking and arrival was simple with no issues. The property is spacious, comfortable and well thought out with a generously stocked kitchen. We settled in quickly and had everything we needed which was great. It was all spotlessly clean and the beds are super comfy. My daughter particularly enjoyed the smart TV! The village is only a few minutes walk from the property and there are places to eat with a really lovely pub. Due to Covid we only got a take away but the pizza from the pub was really delicious and the village shop is well stocked. We would highly recommend this property.

High quality cottage in lovely village
Nicely decorated and comfortable cottage. Well arranged ground floor with kitchen/diner/lounge. Everything clean and fresh looking. Very well equipped kitchen and a lovely touch to find bread, milk, butter, cereals and jams waiting for us! Bedrooms light and airy - the double one is especially spacious with excellent shower in en-suite bathroom. Bath in other bathroom rather small but fine for kids. Twin bedroom small but again fine for kids. Outside space rather limited and not directly accessible from property which is a pity. The village of Chulmleigh is old and interesting with several pubs and shops - and walks nearby. Overall a lovely property.

What a great (accidental) find! Very clean, well equipped and cosy but not at all cramped. Bed and bath linens were great, nice little welcome pack (milk, cereals, tea etc) to arrive to and a well stocked village store just down the road. Plenty of free and easy parking nearby too. Lovely, well presented cottage in central Chulmleigh, decent kitchen utensils for food prep (we didn't eat out much due to covid restrictions). Smart TV handy during Covid. Washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets supplied which was great as we forgot to bring them. Hired bikes at Great Torrington and cycled some of the Tarka trail; visited Rosemoor, which was beautiful.
