I've had unacceptable experiences during my last two stays at the Courtyard Marriott in Newburgh, New York.
During my first stay over the Christmas weekend, the hotel had no heat or hot water. Despite calling an hour before check-in to notify the staff I was running late, the manager failed to inform me of these conditions. When I requested a reimbursement for these circumstances, the hotel refused, and I was forced to resolve the matter through my bank.
My most recent stay during Easter weekend was even more distressing. On the last night of my two-day stay, I was awoken in the middle of the night by an itching sensation and discovered bed bugs on my pillow and sheets. This experience was overwhelming. I had to immediately shower and was forced to discard the clothing and pajamas that had been on the bed.
I have already contacted corporate, but I found the customer service representative to be very curt. While she stated that I would receive an email notification offering a full reimbursement for this stay, I have yet to see this resolved.
I am extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency and the sanitary conditions at this location. I expect a prompt confirmation regarding the full reimbursement of my recent stay.
