The hotel is in a prime location in Chengdu, a beautiful pedestrian alley with plenty of restaurants and shops. The hotel is gorgeous. Not just the lobby and restaurant area, but also the rooms. They are modern. Ours had two private outdoor bamboo gardens, floor to ceiling windows with motorized drapes and blackout curtains, 3 TVs, an enormous bathroom, walk-in closet, and a living room. The hotel staff is extremely attentive and they went out of their way to be helpful. My girlfriend had gotten sick on the last day of our stay. They sent someone with me in a cab at 4AM TO THE 24 hour pharmacy. Later they arranged transportation to a clinic for westerners, helped me walk her to the car, and even left two umbrellas in the car for us. I highly recommend the Diaoyutai.
