"Hotel Ursa was truly a hidden gem! We were super pleased with the quaint hotel room that was clean and safe. I am picky with hotels and we were weary being right on the college campus but it’s just a coincidence that this hotel was on the UMaine property. It was a wonderful experience staying for the night and we’d happily be back! The pillows were very comfy too! Small fridge, comfy chair in the corner, large bathroom… can’t beat this hotel especially for the price!"

"Our 2-night stay at the Brewer Motor Inn was great overall. The moment we checked in, I loved the staff. Very personable, helpful and friendly. I had reserved two rooms - one for my wife and son and one for my elderly Dad who was traveling with us. The check-in went well as we waited in the cute little atrium that had a stocked breakfast nook available. Once checked in and we got to the room, it went mostly well. The only odd things, and for which I had to lower the review score a bit were the very outdated (20+ years old) doorhandles which we struggled to open at first. Now, don't get me wrong, I have these type on my house and they work just fine. But when they get worn out, as these ones were, they get finicky. I hadn't been to hotel/motel with older manual key locks like those in ages. Not a game-changer, but they really should modernize them. Anyway, the room was very clean and mostly well maintained. There were very sparse power outlets, so if you travel with a lot of electronics, keep that in mind. Other than that, all went pretty well. The staff very courteous, even when my dad had an issue where he was SURE he lost his wallet and insinuated to the staff that the cleaning people took it (which they had not). They were very kind and helpful and even offered to help him file a police report. Long story short, Dad's wallet was never lost and he was fine. :) Great stay! Recommended for a casual stop over. Oh yes, and DO try the on-site restaurant! The food was great!"

"Our stay was good - nice amenities and a staff member who helped us was VERY helpful and accommodating! Wonderful view of the river - this was a highlight plus we could open the windows for fresh air while we slept. Property was dated, beds weren't that comfortable and laundry detergent was really strong on the sheets. No coffee or continental breakfast offered which was a bummer for the price but overall a positive experience!"
